Scratch Music Compilation 667

Welcome everyone to the seventh(!)(!!) annual Scratch forums music compilation! April (better known by her Scratch username veggieman001), creator of the series, will be a bit too busy to manage the compilation this year. Therefore, I will be hosting the proceedings for the first time! Hopefully I don't royally mess things up!

If you don't know what any of this is all about, allow me to bring you up to speed. Basically, every year for the past seven years, we Scratch forumers have been coming together to create compilations of our own music. Anyone and everyone can submit a track (as long as they have a Scratch account). For more info, check out these resources:

If you gots any questionz, don't be afraid to ask me! I'll answer anything. Even things not related to the compilation! I'm an open book, you see.

If you wanna send in a track, be sure to do that before August 31, 2017, because that will be our deadline date. The compilation will prob come out sometime in like mid-September.

HEY! YOU! YEAH, YOU! THIS NEXT PART IS VERY IMPORTANT, SO PLEASE READ IT!

Submission guidelines
  • Track must be in one of the following formats: FLAC, WAV, AIFF. Other formats will not be accepted.
  • Track must be put up for direct download and I shouldn't need to install anything or create an account to open it. Most archives (like ZIP, RAR, etc.) are okay. If you need somewhere to upload your track, I recommend Dropbox, Google Drive, Mega or Mediafire. You could also use Soundcloud or Bandcamp, but remember to make the track downloadable, for free.
  • Track may be an original composition or a cover of another song.
  • An artist name may be submitted with the track; otherwise, your Scratch username will be used.
  • Only one submission per Scratcher, except in the case of collaborations with other Scratchers, of which an unlimited (within reason; don't submit like 200 songs u sily) amount each with different collaborators is allowed.
  • Track may be about anything. Get creative, yo!
  • Track may be previously released or released in the future by the artist; it doesn't need to be exclusive.
  • You are giving your permission to me to release this track on the Scratch Forums Music Bandcamp free of charge, with a CC BY-NC-SA license (unless otherwise discussed).
  • Track may not be entirely be made of pre-composed loops; there must be some original element to the music besides assembly. Ask questions about this if you are confused.
  • Track length may not exceed 7 minutes.
  • Track may not include copyrighted samples, unless you have somehow managed to obtain permission for the sample.
  • Track may not contain content against the Scratch Community Guidelines.
  • Track may be rejected for any reason at any time, although I promise not to be unreasonable or mean because that would be awful. (This is just for backup!)
  • Submission guidelines may be amended at any time.
  • Don't forget to have fun n' stuff!

Submission list
If your name is in regular text, that means you have said that you'd like to participate but have not done so yet (and have no obligation to do so, although I will remind you if you have not at a certain point before release). If your name is in bold and has a track name listed by it, that means that I have your submission. If your name is in italics, that means that I have an inquiry for you and you should be like “Huh? What?”
  • Multiplies (All4one)
  • luiysia
  • Sample Project Sins (Iditaroid) - “No One's World”
  • Sometimes the Cat (veggieman001)
  • TV GLØSS (mr-scratch-cat) - “manganese”
  • Christopher Tom (DrChrisPhD)
  • Mark! Silver (SilverMediaPro)
  • Justin Ji (jji7skyline)
  • PikmanDude - “Too Spooky For Me”
  • Probehead (All4one, jji7skyline, Ersatz-) - “Dog vs. Weatherman”

Album artwork
And hey, you can't have a Scratch compilation without album art, so I'll be taking submissions for that as well! This will be the fifth entry in our Songs We're Making and Creating series, so the title of the album will probably be something along the lines of Songs We're Making and Creating V: Subtitle (but you can just title it Songs We're Making and Creating V if you can't think of a cool subtitle). Like the album tracks, all artwork must be submitted by August 31, 2017. After that, we'll arrange a poll and choose the best cover from there. If your cover doesn't win, don't fret! All submitted artwork will be included with downloads of the compilation! Also, users who have already made album art may not have their artwork as the main art; these would be veggieman001, schnrfl, luiysia, 777w, puppetadventurer and Hinderwoods.

So let's get goin'!

remind me to do this lol

It’s such a little thing to weep—
So short a thing to sigh—
And yet—by Trades—the size of these
We men and women die!

noice man. i'll be signing up with the artist handle “Mark! Silver”. also, we could probably include the work-in-progress emawm collab song in this thing provided we get that done in time, but don't write that into the submission list just yet.

I have a song that I'd like to submit to your compilation. I'm not sure if this is the right place to do so, but the song is here: https://soundcloud.com/edward-v-861032711/too-spooky-for-me

The song title is “Too Spooky For Me”, you can use my Scratch username as the artist name, and the genre is jazz.

Thanks! If I did this wrong or you have any questions; let me know.

This is soundin' good, dude! Do you think you could upload it somewhere like Dropbox or Google Drive in a lossless format like .FLAC or .WAV?

I don't have the time to record and mix songs these days so I thought of submitting something stupid like this. But seeing so few people actually submitting their songs and participating makes me very sad, and submitting a (poop)post in this situation would be pretty much insulting to all the great people that have kept this compo series alive.

Some free programs are LMMS (if you want to sequence music, kind of like in FL Studio which is paid software) and MuseScore or Noteflight if you know how to write partiture.

I'd also like to participate again. It was awesome being in the fourth comp and I'm trying to polish my music skills this year.
