Bump, sorry for inactiveness! Who should we use for the first chapter? They'll have to have some subtle introductions to the world, and set/get-ready-to set the plot forward.

Scratch I'm following the discussion if you could not be a spork and send me notifications that'd actually be nice.
Before we plan the first chapter, we should probably clarify who our heroes/villains/protagonists/antagonists are and what role they'll play in the story as a whole.

According to this flowchart I have on a pinstrest board, before we begin writing we need a knowable protagonist, an interesting antagonist, a setting, a problem that needs solving and an understanding of how it will all turn out.

Well, as we have now, the loose plot goal is getting the protagonists to find the “Star of Time”, which, after some discussion, will send the user back (or forward?) in time to try to prevent a deadly war from happening in the world's past, which will prevent tons of deaths. As for protagonists, we have a couple candidates (I gave them a brief summary based on the user's bio):
Eren - Male, tries to act brave and tough but has trust issues with others; mother's death gives him purpose.
Mikey - (Just putting this character here since I'm still waiting on Stryer to edit his character for the setting's time period)
General Carricks - Male, retired general of the war, has courage but is also hot-headed. Wants to support pro-tags in journey. (I believe he should be used more as a side-character)
Sarley - Male, caring but anxious, and open to others. Society tries to shape him to be something he's not, and he follows his own dreams.

As for antagonists and setting, those are larger topics we'll cover later after we get the pro-tag's sorted out.

Was it the OP? I checked it over the past couple weeks and recently after I saw this post, and it still had futuristic elements to it (Phones, clones, high school, etc)

Yeah, I intended Carricks to act as more of a mentor to the protaganists

So… We're working on characters right now?
Yup!
Alrighty then! Might as well make one

Name: Michael Caliburn

Nickname, if any: Mikey

Age at time of story: 17

DOB: May 21st

Astrological sign: Gemini

Eye color: Blue

Build (thin, medium, heavy?): Thin

Height: 5'9

Skin color: Pale(ish)

Describe face. (e.g. Angular? Round?): A little angular, medium sized eyes with thin eye-brows.

Hair color: Brown

Hair description (e.g. high forehead? Bald?): Mikey's hair is usually spiked up, (even though it's not that long, more on the medium size) with a long strip of hair hanging down the right side of his face.

Who does he resemble?: Farher's hair, Mother's face.

Any health problems?: Asthma

Eyesight (Glasses? Contacts?): Nope

Style of clothing?: Mikey prefers long sleeved shirts and pants over most things, only wearing a brown jacket over it. He'll rather take of his jacket and roll up his sleeves then change into shorts and a shirt.

Neat and organised, or scatty: Neat.

Any specific mannerisms?: Mostly shy to people he doesn't know, and can be shy even if he does know them.

Job/occupation: Currently still learning.

Does he like it? It's school, Whattya think?

Level of education: Knows basic math and how to read. That's about it.

Political orientation: Doesn't really pay attention to politics unless his father makes him pay attention to it, where he goes on a rant about corruption.

Religious beliefs: Athiest

His three best traits? Loyal, Hardworking, can be a little Defiant.

His three worst traits? Quiet, Shy, Procrastinator

His biggest fear? Being stabbed in the back by someone he trusts. And bugs, but we do not speak of bugs. (Has an Exterminator on speed dial)

His biggest dream? Flight. Throughout the vast majority of his life, Mikey has wanted to fly and be free.

What is your character’s family dynamic? Does he come from a healthy family situation, or a dysfunctional one? What is his relationship with siblings, if any? What were his parents’ weaknesses, and how have they impacted upon him? Mikey was born into a middle class family, his mother and father both work for the for some tailoring company. It is a relatively healthy family situation.

What one experience in he life would he rather have avoided? Two words. Health Class. Learning how to sew. Let's just say there's a reason needles re kept away from him.

What was the biggest lesson he learned in life? Was it a hard lesson or an easy one? Never mess with bug hives. During an incident in his childhood, he learned the Golden Rule (Very cliche but I'm running out of ideas.

What’s the biggest lesson he has remaining to learn? Does he realize it? Alas! Later on he will realize that there are people that he can trust and overcome his shyness. Or get stabbed in the back by a friend. Ya know, whichever comes first.

Is she optimistic, or pessimistic? Mike is quite the Optimist if I do say so myself,

What one thing would he change about herself if he could? He'd find a way to tell his younger self to stop procrastinating and do something with his life. In other words, he hates his procrastination habbit but can't bring himself to change it.

What does he like best about himself? Alas! His hair is his defining feature! It takes so much grooming to get the spikes just right and to curve the long strip of hair that glides down the right sight of his face… *Cough* In other words, Don't mess with the hair.

Self-esteem on a scale of 1-10? 9

What one thing about him would he like to tell you that’d surprise you? That his shyness is really just something he picked up from his older brother who drowned. Uh… Tough question. Probably that all his clothes have padding in them because he has brittle bones. That his shyness was all an was something he picked up from his older brother, who died saving Mikey from drowning.

Nobody knows this about him, but: Though Mikey doesn't know this, his parents secretly hate him with a passion and blame him for his older brother's deaths. But he will find out. For uh… “Character Development.”

What does he want more than anything in the world? This could well be something intangible, e.g. acceptance, love, fame. This desire will add to your story, because the outside goal is intrinsically mixed up with the internal one: After finding out about his parent's hate, Mikey will have the overwhelming desire to prove himself in his parent's eyes, but will later find out that his parent's were secretly his Aunt and Uncle and his “Older Brother” was his older cousin. Dun. Dun. DUN.

What scares him most? Abandonment? Mice? Needless to say, whatever it is, it’ll happen to him in the story! (A good model for stories is that the character will overcome what she most fears in order to attain what she most wants.): Bugs. Bugs. Bugs. And more Bugs. Bugs will be his undoing. He is utterly terrified of just the sight of them. But we will not speak of that for now…

That's a tactic that has worked in the past, each writer roleplays one of the protagonists and the story is based off of what happened in the RP

While that is a good idea, I feel like we shouldn't use it for plot. We could use it for characters, if we wanted to imagine a conversation between the characters or find out likes/dislikes.

It wouldn't be a terrible occurrence if we managed to hammer out some rough ideas for a plot either before or during such an RP

Your Overall Writing Style (Ex: Dramatic, Subtle, etc) I think my overall writing style would probably be suspenseful (is that okay to put down?).
Why you want to join (Optional) I want to join because I absolutely LOVE writing! It’s one of my greatest hobbies, and I do it all the time. I know that joining this will help me improve, and I would love to share my work with Scratch.
Are you good at working with others, and can you accept their ideas respectfully? Of course! I love to work with other people, it makes me happy, and I try my best to understand. I also try my best to listen to everyone’s ideas, and it helps! Lots of people have great ideas!
Are you following this thread? Yes, I am. Even if I am not accepted, I would love to see what goes on with this writing collab, because it looks amazing! I will continue, even if I’m not accepted, to support this collaboration as much as I possibly can! Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Hey everyone, I've read the front page again and noticed a few things:
  • You've used spaces, which doesn't always get the text dead-centre. There's a special piece of BBCode not in the top bar:
[center]<Your text here>[/center] (be sure to spell it the American way, or it won't work).
    It centres your text!

  • For the employee list key, you've used such things as italics and underlining. While this is fine, you can use colours!
[color=red]<Your text here>[/color] (Again, you need to spell it the American way)
    [color=green]<Your text here>[/color]
You can also use hex codes! Just replace the word ‘red’ or ‘green’ with the hex code! My favourite is #63c29e
  • “Of course..”
    '.' or ‘…’

I'll think about it for now, the studio is kind of empty so if you and crystal wanted to set that up, I'd be fine with it

Thanks! I'm not all that experienced with BBCode so I just threw some copy paste things in there lol. I'll see if I can implement this over the next couple days.

Hey! Just got a few questions: 1. How many people will there be in the group? 2. With the Star of Time, if it’s an actual star, how are they going to get to it? I’m guessing it’s set in medieval times, so there won’t be anything like rockets or whatever, will there? 3. What kind of stuff should I work on? Drafts of characters, etc?
