What does chan mean?you add it to a Japanese female name, it stands for -san but “ch” in Japanese symbolizes cuteness, and -kun is the male one, although there is no “cute” for it. (I'm such a nerd that I was learning Japanese)

-chan is very oftenly used in Japanese culture for referencing to younger feminine characters (I'd recommend asking someone who knows more about this topic).
Perhaps the -chan you're referencing to might be another language (wild guess), or referencing to a different -chan.
