Bump entry 37 : Got some more orders
Well I got two more orders since the last time I bumped about orders. I made an “evil” scientist for JAK15. Still I don't really see it making an evil character. I see it as making a character that does things that are not acceptable by scocity's standards that is usually against the law. Nearly no one does things for the sake of being evil, well except that one guy who is trying to prove themselves as a real villain and not a joke. Okay maybe I should bump about how I think villains should be made another time to prevent this bump from going off topic… I also reviewed Scratch party. I think it took the longest to review that game than any other project here. I wish that would happen more often… Anyway that's all for this bump entry, bump you next time!

Here is another bump for my shop! Still sometimes I wonder what kind of Vearus my mascot is. Is it a Vearus born that way? Is it covered in body paint? Was Vedrew paid to paint himself like that? I like the idea of Vedrew getting paid to paint themselves like that, however when the time to take the photo for the logo he gave the most frowny face possible and was paid extra just to smile. As funny as that would be it wouldn't work from an in universe perspective. I just love the fact that I'm referencing a series I made without even mentioning the name of it. Anyway that's all for this bump, bump you next time!

I would like an idea for a project!
Genre of project: Platformer game, whatever genres and subgenres that comes in.
Characters in project: The protagonist, currently
Any ideas you already have for your project: Well here's the story in brief, The kingdom of shapes was once a peaceful place but the evil triangle took over as king.This triangle made all shapes treat triangles like elites of the kingdom. The player was chosen leader of the cubes and has to go through a dangerous path to reach the king.
Anything else: i got the story line but I need ideas on different types of traps that could be used. Currently i've decided lava pools but I need more types of traps.

I made a game called "The True Ninja". It may sound like a rip-off to @Will_Wams the ninja series but I made it quite a bit different. The second game is out is now out and in my opinion, is much better than the first. Click here to see some other games I made!

I am willing to help, as long as it is in my capability to do so. (I think I am a decent programmer but not the best artist).

When asking help (to me or anyone else), attempt first, if you encounter trouble, that's when you ask help. If I created your scripts, then it would be hard for you to understand what they do. If you attempted but it did not work out, you will at least have an idea of what each script does and it will be easy to identify the modifications that made your script work. TLDR; Try, and ask help if if it does not work out

SpeedTrack Racing
Gameplay:You turn, and change speeds to dodge rocks. The game play gets repetitive quickly. All of the modes felt like you were doing the exact same thing. The game felt more of turning a direction to dodge things for as long as you can than a racing game. This is due to the fact that the main thing you do in this game is dodge rocks rather than try to beat courses as fast as you can. There also feels like there is only one way to play which is not get hit to much and going forward while racing games usually have more variation. The multiplayer appears to be more of a time attack mode with a score board than a multiplayer mode. I wish there was more variation to the game play.

Perspectives:
First person: I like how there is a steering wheel that moves with your movements. You have a good view of what is ahead in this mode. However it is a bit hard to tell when you are taking damage from the right. It is easier to see the statistics in this mode.
Third person: This is where it really feels like you are just turning in place. The car blocks your view a little bit. I find the top of the car appearing and disappearing quickly to look buggy and take away from the experience. It is easier to see when something will hit you in this mode.

Visuals:The visuals are decent. The visuals have a simplisticish look to them but they get the job done. The sides of the road look bare, which makes it look like you aren't really doing anywhere where when there aren't any rocks on the road. Adding somethings to the sides would liven things up on your courses. Most of the courses look the same except for the roadside color however adding things specific for each course would change that. While playing the way the car turns is weird. It feels like the car is turning in place instead of going left or right. The visuals make it look like the car is staying in place, and moving forward at the same time. I do like how you added in the ability to change your car's color.

Music:The music is fitting for the tittle screen. However it isn't as fitting for racing. This song is part of what makes this feel more of moving a direction to dodge things for as long as you can than a racing game. Adding in some fitting music would make it feel more like racing, and if you give each track it's own song they will feel more like different tracts. It also gets annoying to listen to the same song the entire time playing.

Overall:The game needs some variety to make it more interesting. As of now it feels like you are dodging rocks over and over again with no end. The game feels like it has it's base mechanics down but still needs something to make it shine. I give this game a 4/10 for having repetitive game play and not feeling like a racing game.

You can have plants that try to bite you if you get to close, triangle guards that send you back a level if they see you, moving lasers, something that rotates in a circle, falling debris, spikes that can retract and come out, multiple doors with only one letting you progress with the rest bringing you into a loop, and cannons. You can also have mechanics such as water parts, parts where gravity flips, and possibly skills you get over time which will allow you to access parts of levels you couldn't before and that new path could be how you progress. When your stuck try looking for things in the background that could be made into obsticals. You could also make some parts where you have to figure out a puzzleish set of traps instead of it just taking jumping skills to get through.

First of all you need to change the focus of the game from surviving to complete the courses to beating them as quickly as possible(except in infinite mode). I suggest making the rocks stop you for a few seconds instead of hurting your car(or maybe make something that does that and make rocks less frequent). From what I've noticed in racing games there are usually multiple ways and choices you can take you finish a course. You can chose when turn, when to use items, which direction you want to take if the course has multiple directions, to go backwards. Your courses need more variety in what is possible in them. Without a major revamp to your system adding in speed boosts, things that make you stop, and speed slowers would add in some more variation to the game but I'm not sure if it would be enough to make it feel like a racing game. Another thing that would make it feel more like a racing game is to make it feel as if your moving constantly. When there are no rocks on the screen it feels like you are going nowhere. Adding a progress bar for the course would help. It would also help if there was off road scenery that has some always there moving towards you to make it feel like your going forward.

PONG (V2.1.1m)
Gameplay: It's a lot like a normal pong game but ball speeds up over time and where are power ups. I like how you made it so it waits a few seconds after exiting the shop, however that does nothing against the ball's faster speeds when the ball isn't going straight down but instead an angle which you can't really tell during those few seconds of waiting. Maybe you should add in an arrow during those few seconds to show which direction the ball is going. The ordering of the risk and grow power ups don't make that much sense. Why do you get the bigger paddle first? Why do you only unlock the smaller paddle once the ball is going so fast it isn't a good idea to use anymore? I couldn't get up to the shield to use it meaningfully. The only powerup I used is the slow which is a nice powerup to use once things get very fast.

Glitches: The ball shows before pressing space, which can lead to it blocking part of the Move your mouse cursor to move the paddle text. The press E to open the shop lingers in the tittle screen when you retry. You can press space to restart a game while in the middle of one. If you press space immediately after retry the tittle text hangs around during play. While I didn't encounter this glitch I have a concern that once the ball is going so fast it might clip through the paddle. In general try pressing things before the screen is ready for it. Many glitches happen when you do that. By doing this I was able to get the ball to move during the count down.

Graphics: The graphics are pretty good. They mostly all fit into the same photorealistic style. Only the grass and money are out of style with the rest of the graphics. I like how you tried to set a theme of playing tennis with the graphics.

Clouds: Those clouds look very suspicious. I could have sworn I've seen them before… I remember now! They are part of the cloudaran gang. Clouds notorious for showing up and raining on volleyball events. Good thing this is tennis themed pong!

Music: The title screen music is very fitting. However the Main game music is only good for when the ball is slow, it sort of feels out of place when the ball is going at a blink and you'll miss speed.

What I would like to see: I would like to see a goal in this game. Right now it seems to just be get the highest score possible which isn't very interesting. I would also like to see some thing more in game play to change things up. Speed alone is somewhat boring and it can get out of hand if it gets so fast to the point of the ball cliping through the paddle.

Overall:
It is a pong game with powerups. The only thing I haven't seen before is that you had powerups. There is no goal in this game other than get the highscore. I give this game a 4.5/10 for being a pong game with a shop and a tennis theme.

Bubble Simulator!
Experience:Well since this is a simulator and not a game I'm not sure if I can call this part gameplay. I picked the T-rex bubble wand, and started clicking. It is pretty simple, you click to make bubbles. I like how you added 4 different backdrops to make bubbles in. Which brings me to the next section…

Secret features:I like how you added secret features into the game. I pressed literally every button to try to find all of the secrets. I even pressed stuff like ,. and; until I realized that there wouldn't be anything assigned to them. The first secret I found was the Scratch stage. I like how you made the bubbles made there into loves, and faves. Still I wonder what those blue explanation marks were supost to be? The second secret I found by digging into the project's code. I clicked a lot to see what happens when you reach 100 clicks. I ended up going into 200 clicks trying to see what happens. I like the celebration bubble wand, however there is a glitch a prevents you from getting it. There is also a cop that shows to only Dragon540. I wish there was more secret features in this as it was fun trying to find them.

Glitches: When you reach 100 clicks there is no way to activate the event. The bubble wand is always slightly out of your reach. Also it tries to switch to costume one instead of costume 12 which I suspect is the wand you wanted it to go to.

Thumbnail:I like how you made the bubble part of it out of bubbles. It is pretty simplistic. The the colors go together in a nice way.

What I would like to see:First of all some background music would be nice. I wish there was a way to change bubble wands, without having to press the green flag to chose again. I would love to see you make more secret features. Overall more content would be nice, and I hope the project gets a lot of loves because of that(What would you do if this project somehow reached 1,000 loves? Would Scratch even allow for 5,000 different wands?).

Overall:It's a simple bubble simulator. I like the secret features in it, and I enjoyed searching for them. However there isn't that much to do in it. This game has no storyline, no point and no levels so I rate it bubble out of T-Rex(Though there is a point to it in making bubbles and finding the secret features). Joking aside I give this bubble sim a 4.5/10 for being a bubble sim with some secret features.

Thank you! The blue exclamation points were supposed to represent followers, since the background was supposed to be like Scratch XD I guess I need to work on my art.. Thanks for finding the glitch. I think I'll just make it a completely different sprite, and I can code that, OR… It could be like a forbidden, impossible to get rarity! Nah. I'll do the first option. DRAGON540 asked for a sprite, so I stuck it in the simulation for some reason. I think I'll add something where you can change your wand, but it will probably be secret.. I'll add something where you can press arrow keys to do it. As for the bubble wand always out of your reach, I think I can fix that.

Since muellly seems to enjoy the concept of video games delivering a story, I think a bump entry about the broad topic would be appropriate. Generally, what sets games apart from other media is that they're interactive. In a way, each one is its own world with different mechanics and rules that are programmed in to make it function. Even though nearly any other kind of media can deliver a story, an interactive one puts the player right in the middle of it. If the writing is done well, the player will actually care about the world inside the computer. There are a lot more thoughts I have about this, but I'll just end it here. So, well… bump you next time?

Something I want to do is collaborate with other people and improve my skills. Here are two of my unfinished games:
A turn-based Earthbound inspired RPG battle system and
a Zelda inspired “adventure game”.
I'm probably going through collaboration topics right now, aren't I?

Star Wars Battle
Gameplay: You can move around, and you have to avoid tie and bomb fighters. I like how there are multiple ways to play. You can stay still and shoot, you can turn and shoot, you can move around to try to dodge, or you can constantly move around. After a few tries I got a score of 138. I think the heart power up needs to grant you an extra heart instead of refilling a heart. It can show up at any time, and it would be unfortunate if someone got the heart before they took any damage. Looking at the lives system you set up I think you should max it out to 5 via heart powerups. I like how you made it so heart powerups only disappear if they are collected or are shot. I think this is good because it gives the player enough time to collect them however they can still disappear if the player is reckless. I looked at the comments and I think you should not make it so the player always moves. I tried it and it makes the game much harder, and removes the freedom on how you can play.
The new update appears to allow you to shoot many bullets instead of a few. I feel like this makes the turn and shoot play style very overpowered. I got a score of 326 with all three hearts left before I decided to stop. I tired the move and shoot play style and I found it was still as hard as before, mostly because I found that you can not go forward and left at the same time. I believe you can not lose in the stay still and shoot play style with this update as long as none of the tie-fighters/bombers can get to you in less than one loop this should be correct.. I personally liked the only able to shoot 5 bullets at a time mechanic over the many bullets as it added difficultly and made the situation feel more dire. However I feel like there needs to be more control is needed over how many bullets you shoot at a time if the only allowed to have 5 bullets at a time is implemented as if there is little control people could have trouble as they would always use up all 5 bullets in one short tap of space but if there was to much people would wait forever just to launch their next bullet.

Graphics: While they aren't the best I like how they go together. I recommend changing the frowny face in the game over screen to a picture of the X Wing being shot down in this game's art style.

Sound: The song you made is good. It gives off a sad vibe. It goes nicely with the intro. It goes along well with the story of the game. However I feel that the pop sound is out of place with the mood of the game.

Story: Being alone in the middle of space trying to fight off the Tie-fighters. The moment is so full of emotion from the song. Making a stand with no hope of winning during your last moments. The scene is beautiful.

Feeling:I get a final moment feeling when playing this game. A feeling of taking a last stand with little hope of success creating a nice sadish atmosphere. I feel like this is out of place with what you are trying to create. I have a feeling that you are trying to create a scene where you are the hero in an action packed game. Reading the first paragraph in your instructions feels weird. It shows the feeling of awesome adventure, fun and heroicness you were trying to create but then when playing the game it feels sad,dire and like it's a last stand. I don't know to much about Star wars however it does not feel like it, and I would have never guessed it was star wars if I didn't see the tittle or instructions. This game reminds me more of loneliness(Which is a short game about a single square where every other square runs away from you.) than Star wars.
The main reason I liked this simple game more than most other simple games was the story I had created for it. Through most might not think this way. The tone I thought up for it gave the game gave me a reason to keep playing even though it was pointless and there was no winning. This is part of the reason why I don't like being able to shoot many bullets, it took away from the dire tone I made up by making the game so easy it was boring. An ending might be nice. However if you add it don't tell when it occurs as I feel that it would give a feeling of having to grind than having a feeling of you did it. Instead every time you fail there should be a message that changes with how many tie-fighters were left until you would have won. However this would take away from the high score aspect of the game, and if the number was to low it would just make it feel like an easy achievement instead of a you did it.

Overall:It is a game about a single ship fending off against many. The tone I feel that you were trying to create does not line up with what I was experiencing in the game. If I wasn't told through text I wouldn't have even guessed this is a star wars game. However I did enjoy I feeling I experienced during the game. I give this game a 4/10 for being a simple game that delivers a nice tone, despite it feeling like it wasn't what you intended.

Bump entry 38 : Orders and bump entries
Okay so I got some more orders done. Is it just me or have I been giving out a lot of 4s recently. Am I somehow on 4 score tilt? Anyone my review for star wars battle took awhile to come out. First of all my computer started acting weird to the point it couldn't load more than 1 second on a web page. The page with the review on it was frozen, and it looked like I had to write it all over again. However I was able to copy and paste it into a notepad file so it was not lost, then I restarted my computer which made everything fine again. However shortly afterwards I got sick. I saw Exypno bump this thread and it motivated me to finish the review. I feel honored that Exypno wrote a bump entry. I'm glad that I've inspired others to write longer bumps, and hope that bump entries will become more commonplace so all can see creative bumps that at least loosely have to do with the topic instead of the word bump. That's all for this bump entry, bump you next time! (and hopefully I won't leave a half completed bump open in another tab for days next time…)
