This topic is about the TV show Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency that's on Netflix everywhere but the USA.



The show is based around the eccentric Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett) who claims to be a “holistic detective”, investigating obscure cases based on the inter-connectivity of all things. During the first season he befriends Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood) and Farah Black (Jade Eshete) who help him with his cases. Dirk's past is linked with “Project Blackwing”, a secret CIA project to evaluate subjects with strange abilities. Dirk is not only followed by agents of Blackwing to trying recapture him, but also by Bart Curlish (Fiona Dourif), another Blackwing subject who considers herself a “holistic assassin” and believes she is destined to kill Dirk. Oh yeah, I watched the first couple of episodes of this. They were pretty good and delightfully mind-bending, but I got too caught up in other shows to have looked into it further.

IDK if this is true or not, but I find it funny regardless considering how many shows and movies on Netflix are region-locked outside of the US.

It's a shame because if this show was on American Netflix it would probably get way more viewers and they wouldn't think about cancelling it.

It's produced by BBC America, oddly enough, so it's strange that they couldn't get around that.
