Hmm… I would love this! It would make finding good projects easier. I would like a toggle for it though. Support.

"Browse" or "Suggested/Recommended" projects to look at

I'd like to suggest that there would be a “recommended” tab on the front page.

Think of YouTube. When you first go onto the site on a new account, you can use the search bar to look up the kind of videos (or in this case, projects) that you'd like to see. And, you could look at some of the videos/projects on the front page. What if, instead of having to look up in the search bar what you want to see every time, you could just have a tab on the front page with videos/projects that you were interested in?

How would it work?
I was thinking that the recommended projects could be based on tags of the projects you view. For example, if I looked in the search bar, “Wolf Animations”, then the tags on those projects that I'd click on would be representing what I liked and was interested in the project. The tags on the projects that I clicked on could be the basis of what appears in the “recommended” tab. Using this same example, let's say that one project under the search results of “Wolf Animations” had the tags, “Wolves”, “Animation”, and “Art”. Then, in the Recommended tab, there could be projects with those same tags being shown there. Let's say I look at a few different projects with a few different tabs. Let's say that in total, “Wolves” was a tag 4 times, “Animation” was a tag 3 times, “Art” was a tag 2 times, and “Hockey” was a tag 1 time.(I'm using simple numbers to make my brain hurt less >_<) “Wolves” was a tag 40% of the time, so at least 40% of the projects in the Recommended tab could include the tag “Wolves”. “Animation” was a tag 30% of the time, so at least 30% of the projects in the tab could include the tag “Animation”. The same goes for the other tags.

Personally, I think that this would be a great way to find new projects that are interesting to you without doing any work. It could also help unrecognized and underrated projects get noticed.

If you do not support this, then please say why. I don't bite!

This could help less-noticed projects get attention from people with a higher chance of enjoying that kind of project. This suggestion is an interesting idea. Support!

Nice idea, I really like it! But how would they choose which projects to show on the tab other than the tags? By views, loves, or just random, etc.?

But then it's hard to really tell what to recomend

This would encourage more people to use tags

Using this same example, the projects wouldn't need to be chosen based on anything but the tags, as the tags show what the user is interested in, hence why it would be Recommended to the user. I was thinking that like in this example, if a project had the tags “Animation”, “Hockey”, and “Art”, it would be shown less than a project who has more used tags, like one with “Wolves”, “Animation” and “Art”. “Hockey” is a less used tag in the projects that I viewed so although it has one more popular tag and one less popular tag, the second example has more popular tags so it would be shown more.

That's really difficult to explain lol

When I went to go reply to this I accidentally pressed “report” and thankfully I realized and didn't report it XD

That's exactly what I was thinking! This was actually inspired by two things. 1. I couldn't find any projects that I liked, even with the Search function. 2. My wolf simulator and many other good games were not being even considered to be played. It was very difficult to find quality projects, and when I did, they didn't have any views. In the search bar, things are ranked by popularity, which I find quite fair. In this Recommended bar, however, it would be ranked by how much you're interested in it.

SUPPORT! I feel that the system already in place isn't the best, as it only shows popular projects, trending projects, or “recent” projects that are just projects by the name of whatever the tag is. It's not the best way to find what you want, find someone new, or find someone who doesn't get much attention.

Hm, maybe. But isn't that what the “Projects by Scratchers I'm Following” tab does?

Support! This can really help a user find more projects that they're likely to enjoy, and could also potentially give more attention to underviewed projects.
