What are you confused about?
This topic is discussing the progress of scratch 3.0, feature ideas, and announcing what’s new about it.
The current stable version of scratch 3.0 is here, and the less stable (meaning that it is more likely to crash or have bugs) is here.
(There is no preview FAQ yet)

I wonder if they will add any new features…
Considering it'd be JS-based and online, it would probably be a lot easier to roll out updates “at large”, so chances are we'll get new(er) awesome(r) things a lot faster than before.
I want to have private messages with other users so that other people don't see what they want to say to each other.

I did an edit on having custom reporters and booleans.

Its probably not gonna be out for a while. But since google is helping how do you think they will change scratch? Will you have to use a google account instead of scratch accounts? Plus, google literally looks at everything you do and know everything about you. Imagine how much they could find out about people since on scratch you choose your age, gender, and where you live.

Google is helping develop Scratch Blocks. All acounts will still be Scratch-only. As for Google tracking everything, I believe the site has used Google Analytics for quite a while.Its probably not gonna be out for a while.
