What you should avoid posting in the suggestions forums
Hello there! Thanks for clicking on my post!
The title is of course, self-explanatory. This is a list of things that you should definitely avoid posting in the suggestions forums.. There will be examples along with each thing.
If the title is in blue, then it applies only to the suggestions forums. If the title is in green, then it applies to the whole of the discussion forums.
1. A topic that asks people to put their suggestions on.
There have been multiple topics that do this. What happens is that a user makes a new topic and titles it something along the lines of “Leave suggestions for __ here!”, and in their post they say something along the lines of “Hi guys! Put suggestions for __ here.”
These topics are usually closed by a Scratch Team member, because all the user is doing is remaking the suggestions forums.
Example:
2. Asking the Scratch Team to remove a project.
Don't publicly report things on a Scratch Team member's profile or on the forums. Instead, use the “report” button on the Scratch Project and state your reason why you're reporting it there. If you ask the Scratch Team on the forums to remove a project that has, say, bad language, all that'll happen is that the project will gain more views and younger kids will learn a new bad word.
Example:
3. Spam or joke suggestions.
Don't spam or post joke suggestions. Spam makes the Scratch Website slower.
Example:
Blockspam or regular spam applies to the whole of the Discussions Forums.
Example:
4. Irrelevant topics
This forum is for suggestions for the Scratch Website only. Don't ask people to help you with projects or whatnot here. There are other topics for those very reasons. To find those forums, just go to the Discussion Forums main page here.
Example:
5. A Topic that contains multiple suggestions.
Make a different topic for every suggestion, so you always have room to say why your suggestions should be added, without all of your other suggestions crowding it.
Example:
6. Asking for a friend/famous person to get unbanned.
The Scratch Team always blocks people for a good reason. Whether it's giving disrespect to a person or using bad words, The Scratch Team blocks everyone with a purpose. You should not try to help someone get unbanned. It's their job to appeal. So…just don't worry. Hopefully your friend will get unbanned.
Example:
7. Usernames.
This is one of the smaller things you shouldn't post on the forums, but it is definitely big. Don't name-and-shame on the forums.
Example:
What should you do if you find a topic on the Suggestions Forums that does any of these? Well, click on the “Report” button on the first post and in that pretty little “report” box, write that it should be closed. Or moved. Or whatever you think it should be reported for.
And what should you post on the Suggestions Forums? Well, helpful suggestions that you think would help out Scratch! But please, remember to read the stickies first. They're VERY helpful!
Thanks for reading everyone! If there's anything I should add or remove or any typos in here, please tell me and I'll fix them.

The Suggestions forum is for posting suggestions - not individual topics. I'm going to close this, as it is more of a “post your suggestions” topic than an actual suggestion.

Example:
Scratch teem should mak me ceo of scratch becuz i deserve itOf course, sometimes the Scratch Team laughs at these…but ONLY on April Fools' day. Avoid posting them any other time of the year.
Blockspam or regular spam applies to the whole of the Discussions Forums.
Example:
when green flag clicked
forever
switch costume to [ A happy person!]
say [I LOVE THIS SUGGESTION I LOVE IT SOOO MUCH I SUPPORT ITT!111]
end
4. Irrelevant topics
This forum is for suggestions for the Scratch Website only. Don't ask people to help you with projects or whatnot here. There are other topics for those very reasons. To find those forums, just go to the Discussion Forums main page here.

6. Asking for a friend/famous person to get unbanned.

I think that this is mostly covered in Sigton's sticky topic about what to post in the suggestions forum. You should just suggest to add to that if you feel it is needed.
I used to be active on the forums, but I have mostly moved past Scratch. I still do check my Scratch messages, so if you'd like to talk to me, just leave a comment on my profile. My main project on Scratch was Cookie Clicker, but my newest project is Snake Snake, a game based off of Snake, but with two snakes, and you can play either singleplayer or multiplayer.

I kind of disagree. I don't recall seeing most of the things I posted in here in Sigton's post. If I did, they were very lightly covered and not as in-depth as they were in here. I think that this is mostly covered in Sigton's sticky topic about what to post in the suggestions forum. You should just suggest to add to that if you feel it is needed.
I'm not trying to make it seem like his post is totally useless, it is in fact very useful, or that my post is infinity times better than his, I'm just saying that if something in here was in his post, it was probably shorter than my explanations.

Well that's why I said you could suggest to add everything you don't feel is properly explained here. There's also this sticky which covers some of what you say here. Although the OP of that may not be on enough to change it very quickly. Specifically I see #6 is covered in this sticky.I kind of disagree. And I do believe #3 should have some sort of note for April Fools since it is a pretty much accepted practice to make a jokey suggestion around April Fools Day.
I could see you trying to replace the sticky I linked to earlier. but otherwise the topics are just too similar.

And saying what to post on the forums isn't really the main point of his topic. His topic is mostly about how to post constructively on the forums.

No, I'm not saying you should close the topic, but rather giving constructive criticism. I am assuming you are hoping for this to become a sticky or an ITopic, and for that we need to make sure that the information isn't already noted elsewhere, and adds to what we currently have. I just think you can edit or remove these one or two things, and leave the rest for additions. Having good topics on the suggestions forum is a very large problem, mostly just because most people don't know the rules and guidelines for making a topic. So I think it's great that you're doing this, but I just want to make sure that the topic doesn't say anything that hasn't already been said, or is remaking some current stickied topic to be better updated.
I am sorry if I came off as harsh before, but I am just trying to help you make the topic well.
EDIT: I meant to post this at first, I just forgot. If you look at many of the current stickies and ITopics, then you will see how they were given feedback to make them better. No topic is going to start off as a proper ITopic, they are going to require some changes over time. That's all I wanted to add.

I was mostly thinking the 6th one, since that is somewhat covered in current stickies, and since they are both stickies themselves, they are also pretty visible.
I also think maybe some listing something about making sure you don't have personal things in your suggestion like asking for a friend to be unbanned, naming and shaming, ect.
Also last thing for now, I think you could be less harsh with the title and opening description. Like maybe a title of “What to Avoid Posting in Suggestions” or something similar, and saying instead of never even consider putting any of this in a suggestion, just saying to try not to. I know your intent was not to come off as harsh, but these people mostly don't know the rules, and we want to help them with this.
Thank you for understanding what I am going for here, and remember that it's your topic, so don't be afraid to change it.

LOL! I keep imagining somebody with a cheesy voice saying all those things!
Hello there! Thanks for clicking on my post!

Your suggestion must be useful.Usually a Scratch Team member will respond with something like this:I'm afraid I have to close this post since it is not a suggestion and it basically serves the purpose of the entire Suggestions Forums.
