Was it legitimate to report a project which contained swearing, despite the description saying so?

I recently reported a remix of a project. Basically it was the same as the original but the remixer had added a load of swear words verging on sexual content. They had also added a note in the description that it wasn't suitable for young children.

Do you think it was legitimate to request this to be taken down, considering that a warning was provided in the project instructions?

Yes! Even if there is a warning, the project still violates the community guidelines.

Certainly.
You can still technically put a warning for inappropriate content on your project, but the warning would be useless since it's almost exactly like saying “Warning: I'm going to slap you in the face.”
Warnings do not give extra leeway for you to share inappropriate content (though for some reason I occasionally put a blood warning on my projects um), considering Scratch is a site where everything shared should be G to PG appropriate. Yes, R-rated movies or Mature 17+ rated video games certainly give tons of warning that they aren't meant for children, but doing this in Scratch is almost like going to see a PG-rated movie and then noticing tons of swearing and inappropriate content.
You still can warn against something that may startle a user or make them uncomfortable, such as flashing lights, a screamer, or MAYBE a slightly bloody moment, but don't think warnings will allow you to share anything you want.

Definitely.
Scratch is meant to be viewable by everyone.
Putting a warning for something THAT bad doesn't mean that the project's contents don't apply to the community guidelines at all.
I'm terribly sorry if what you saw frightened you.

Yes!

Even if there's a disclaimer, the project should still be reported. Things like disclaimers that tell people not to do something can be ignored or even provoke a young child into doing it.

Yes! Generally, if a little kid sees something with a bunch of warnings on, it is like someone saying “don't press that huge red button that will lead to the end of the world” – they just HAVE to do it, to find out what will happen.

Yes that project must be reported even with the warning. Everything on scratch must be appropriate for everyone on the website. It must be reported

Yeah, but this site is mostly aimed towards kids.

People will still try to look despite warnings. There is no way to detect if the person that is playing the project has a low age or not.

Don't worry, it wasn't anything particularly frightening. It was just a load of very bad swearing. Nothing graphic at all

When I was very young I always had urges to push buttons that say ‘do not use’ and I still occasionally do. But I am always overcome this curiosity.

Yes. Certainly report it! That’s like calling someone a really rude thing and then saying no offense, no offense doesn’t change what the person said. Btw, all scratch projects are supposed to be kid friendly. Tell me on my profile if this helps,
