if i were to make myself a profile picture, what would be the best size to make it to get the best quality?

Whenever I make a profile picture, I just make it as big as possible, and as long as the picture is square and not too detailed, it looks fine.

i know the dimensions of scratch profile pictures are 360 x 4something but i usually just edit images down to a smallish square and they look fine (it’s what I did with my current one)

If they don’t look right I just re-crop them until they look good

That… doesn't sound like a square.

The maximum profile icon size is 500x500. And the ratio is 1:1. That means your profile picture can be a multiple of 10x10.
