Soda, Pop, Coke

So several months ago I saw this study done by The Atlantic (you can watch the video here) where they looked at the different dialects in the United States.

Here are some of the questions:
What is a generic term for a carbonated beverage?
(I.e Soda, Pop, Coke, etc.)
What do you call a long sandwich that contains cold cuts, lettuce, etc?
(I.e hoagie, sub/subway, etc.)
How do you pronounce pecan?
How do you pronounce bag?
What do you call it when it rains while the sun is still shining?
(I.e sunshower, etc.)
What do you call a rubber soled shoe worn in gym class?
(I.e sneaker, gym shoes, tennis shoes, etc.)
What do you call a long road that many cars drive on?
(I.e freeway, expressway, highway, etc.)

Those are just a few of the questions, how do you and people in your area pronounce/say these things? Discuss it here.

Soda, Pop, Coke

1: Just soda or soft drink.
2: Long sandwich/sub
3: Pe-can
4: Bahg
5: Just sun shining while it's raining. I don't really see why I need to call it much else (but I once heard that it's called “The devil kissing his wife” somewhere, I don't know if that's true or not though)
6: Either gym shoes or sneakers.
7: Highway

What is a generic term for a carbonated beverage?
Soda
What do you call a long sandwich that contains cold cuts, lettuce, etc?
Usually just sandwich, which I know is weird
How do you pronounce pecan?
I used to say pee-can, but now I say peh-cahn
How do you pronounce bag?
b-ah-g
What do you call it when it rains while the sun is still shining?
Weird, it's only happened to me twice in my life since it almost never rains where I live
What do you call a rubber soled shoe worn in gym class?
Tennis shoes
What do you call a long road that many cars drive on?
Either highway or freeway, depends on the size. If it has like 5+ lanes it's a freeway, any less then it's a highway

Also, I promise not to make a false joke like I did with the crayon one so that way this doesn't get shut down

Actually, now that you've said that, I realise that's basically what I do.
