Option for Vector to be default editor

When you open up the costume editor, the default editor is bitmap. It's annoying to have to convert to vector every time. I thought maybe there could be an option to make vector the default. Thoughts?

Cool idea - but it is not that hard to switch every time.

I'm highly doubtful you or anyone is that lazy to press a button…

No support.

There is no option for that but when you create a new project, the Scratch cat (in the middle) is in Vector. So just clear its costume or duplicate it.

No support because what's wrong with clicking a single button?

Bitmap is supposed to be for beginners. Vector is supposed to be for advanced, since Vector can get difficult, such as the fact that there is not eraser.

Cool but you just need to click one button and loads of people prefer bitmap

No support, because often times New Scratchers do not know how to use Vector. It's a new concept for them, and bitmap is easier to understand. It's similar to apps and softwares like Microsoft Paint.

I support because if you have some sort of a deadline for a project, it consumes like a minute of the time you could be using to finish your project. (And that's only with like, 20 costumes.)

Um… It takes about 2 seconds to click a button.

This would be a nice quality of life option. Maybe the option can go under edit or maybe shift click edit. While it does take 2 seconds to press a button it can get annoying if you have to make 200+ new costumes that you want to be in vector.

How is adding an option to make it so every time you make a new costume in a project it is created as a vector confuse new Scratchers? The new Scratcher would have to switch on the option for this.

I would greatly appreciate if you were to check of this game I spent months that includes plot and bosses here https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/97452006/ ………………………………………Want a detailed review or idea?

Over the course of over 500 costumes, I can tell you that amount of time adds up to about 8 minutes, when rounded down. And some people need even more than that, if it takes more than a second to press the button. It just becomes a mild annoyance after a while. It's a small quality of life change, you know; and it could simply be in “Account Settings”.

Fine, 40 seconds for only 20 costumes.

Well, what about the people who use bitmap more often…and this isn't much of a problem, it's just clicking a button.

Lots of people have made a good point about the people who use bitmap.

How about this: Underneath the button that reads “convert to vector” or “convert to bitmap”, there's a checkbox labeled “set vector to your default editor”, which would be unchecked by default.

I think it should work like this –– if the sprite is all vector, the next blank costume will also be vector. However, if there is any bitmap costumes in it, then the next blank costume is also bitmap.

Semi-support
This only takes a second or two, so it isn't that hard.
This would be useful for people like me that use vector all the time and don't usually use bitmap.
