Every time I start Scratch 2 on my computer, I get the message “Scratch 2 is trying to install a new helper tool” and I have to enter my password. After I enter my password, I can use the application. But the same message pops up the next time I start it up.

My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.13.1, Safari 11.0.1, Flash 27.0 (release 0)

Same here. I'm hoping for an answer because I'm wanting to use the Offline Editor on a carefully restricted student account on my Mac.

This worked for me.

Copy “Install Scratch 2” to desktop.
Open “Install Scratch 2” file from desktop and click uninstall.
Then Open “Install Scratch 2” from desktop once again and install one more time.

Would be interested if this solves the problem for you all.

hello everyone
1: go to the applications
2: tap on scratch2
3: open the contents folder
4: open MacOS folder
5: double click the exec(executable file)

Done!!!!!

I've found that simply hitting Cancel bypasses the Helper Tool thingo and Scratch starts normally.

mine was called scratch 2 and I had to right click on scratch 2 for it to open that folder

I think there should be a block that restarts the game when a sprite touches an other sprite.And also to make other sprites move without stoping to the diriction of an other sprite.
