Which IDE do you use?

I use:
- Notepad++ for C/C++
- Netbeans IDE for Java (although I don't do a whole lot of Java anymore)
- Vim for writing git commit messages (because it's the default or something, and I haven't bothered to change it)

Vim and emacs aren't great. They are OK (certainly better than VS Code, or XCode—GUI text editors are a meme.) But for top quality, what you want is the text editor ed. Ed is so much better than the alternatives, that there is no logical reason not to use ed. Ed is also extremely lightweight, (much more so than vim, let alone emacs which has trouble running on a gaming computer) and it just works.
You can't forget about Vi

Vi is just a slightly improved version of vim—slightly more lightweight, slightly faster, and slightly more easy to use.
Nevertheless, ed is clearly superior to Vi.
Nah, nano is clearly superior to all text editors.

No. If you need to purchase more RAM so you can use your text editor of choice, you shouldn't be using that text editor

I agree. In addition, if you need to look at a cheatsheet filled with arcane keyboard shortcuts to use your editor; then you shouldn't be using that editor.

I only use text editors that run based on the unreal 4 engine. If my text editor can't do advanced 3d rotations with 4k graphics, then I simply cannot code

I actually code in a 5-dimensional environment running off of unity 17 and directx 33.

I'd much more prefer manually dictating my code to alexa.
