What part of MILD do you think I not understand?Mild violence is basically as much as someone punching another person in the face and there is blood.
Whoa, that's worse than I thought.![]()
There are so many ways to make things without violence that it is better to do that. Like instead of a ninja that throws throwing stars, they could throw waffles. And when opponents get hit, they go to time out. Or they become focused on eating a waffle. Then the ninja could sneak by.

Support. But I would recommend this definition:
Violence
Violence will generally be very mild. Mild violence may be acceptable if it is justified by context (for example, comedic, animated, wholly unrealistic)
BBC (British board film classification)
Ie: minecraft is borderline

This would make it seem like a toddlers' game though, with the ninja throwing waffles to send them to the naughty chair. Also this would be totally out of context in an RPG or action adventure game - let's say there's a historical adventure RPG with a bit of mild fighting, replacing it with waffles would make it very out of context, weird and dumbed down. There are so many ways to make things without violence that it is better to do that. Like instead of a ninja that throws throwing stars, they could throw waffles. And when opponents get hit, they go to time out. Or they become focused on eating a waffle. Then the ninja could sneak by.
The problem with violence is that each family (or guardian moderating what children see) have different views of what is “too violent” for their kids to watch. Plus, every country has a different rating of appropriate content, some allowing more violence than others.
This wouldn't be a problem if only mild violence was allowed - if they really don't want their 10 year old to see Minecraft level cartoony violence then just don't let them play the project. Parents wouldn't complain if the “violence” was just mild.

Here's an idea: Instead of using Minecraft as an example (since LOTS of people seem to have the belief that that game is really violent because you can “punch animals”), you should use Mario. It has Cartoon Violence in it, and the new Mario Odyssey is rated E10+. The thing is, nothing in it really screams “inappropriate”; it's all cartoony, and most of the violence in it is jumping on stuff and getting attacked by fire and stuff. Things like this are not inappropriate in any sense of the word, and really, should be allowed on the site.

That basically defeats the whole purpose. What kind of person wants to play a game with waffle-throwing ninjas sending opponents to the naughty corner? It's WAY too dumbed down.
Lots of games NEED the mild-violent aspect for them to be fun.

That would make the game silly (and not in a good way).

Idk When you look at new super mario bros.
Games that encourage or teach gambling
New Super Mario Bros. www.nintendo-europe.com.
Nintendo of Europe GmbH
The content of this game is suitable for persons aged 12 years and over only.
It contains: Content that teaches or encourages gambling
System: Nintendo Wii U
Genre: Action
Releasedate: 2015-12-17
(Pegi 3)
That was my childhood game.
Anyway this means that your definition could changet over time so you shouldn't use the ratings as a guideline.

It wouldn't be a game with gambling, what they were talking about is Mario level violence. Idk When you look at new super mario bros.

Also Minecraft isn't violent at all and the idea that it's “really violent” is completely inaccurate.

The violence in Minecraft is cartoon as well. I know 4 year olds who play it. Four year olds! It really isn't anything that would be considered inappropriate at all. This is already allowed. Take Griffpatch's Epic Ninja, for example. It has ninjas throwing shurikens, fighting hoards of enemies etc etc. It's not NFE, nor has it been deleted. There are so many ways to make things without violence that it is better to do that. Like instead of a ninja that throws throwing stars, they could throw waffles. And when opponents get hit, they go to time out. Or they become focused on eating a waffle. If we make the rules laxer, Scratch's audience will take it to be laxer than it is and make inappropriate projects, making more work for the ST.
TL;DR: the level of violence mentioned in the OP is already allowed.

But not on the Front Page. NFE is worse than ‘no front page’ now. It also hides it from Explore, lowers its priority on Search (you have to be directly looking for a NFE project in Search to even have a SHOT at finding it) and so on.This is already allowed. Take Griffpatch's Epic Ninja, for example. It has ninjas throwing shurikens, fighting hoards of enemies etc etc. It's not NFE, nor has it been deleted. There are so many ways to make things without violence that it is better to do that. No it's allowed on the site but not on the front page - if a project like it was curated the ST would probably notice and NFE it. Projects with any violence cannot be featured at all right now.
When Griffpatch's 3D Laser Tag got top loved (I think) and got on the front page but was soon noticed by the ST and NFE'd and removed from the front page. As a result (the game is a multiplayer game) there is barely ever anyone else on at the same time to play with, since the NFE has impacted how much it's viewed massively. Proof - check the project notes
I addressed the “inappropriate project” issue in the opening post.

OK, this is just dumb.
I'd understand the NFE if players died in gory ways, but seriously, laser tag? What's so bad about that? The presence of guns? I knew what guns were when I was like 4 years old.

Ah, support. Scratch Team should cater for its main audience, not babies.
Wasn't there was a featured project involving shooting tacos/fajitas?

There was probably, but shooting food isn't considered violent enough to be not allowed to be featured, and many quality projects couldn't be dumbed down to this extent or it would be silly. Ah, support. Scratch Team should cater for its main audience, not babies.

Support, some of the best projects on Scratch can't be frontpaged, so instead we end up with mostly decent projects and not really good ones being featured.
Idk, have you been playing Minecraft with a super realism texture pack or something? Because last time i checked, killing a blocky moss monster with a pixellated sword is NOT realistic. Minecraft style might be a bit much
