16:9 Aspect Ratio instead of square 4:3
I Think project screen Should be Changed to a widescreen aspect ratio
You could fit more on to the screen and the old 4:3 ratio is old and used less often today which could make less uncomfortable viewing off fullscreen projects
Should Be An option not a Default

I don't think this should be default, but it certainly should be an option in Scratch 3.0!
think [Awesome suggestion]

I agree. Some users may have smaller screens, so the widescreen would take up most of the display space. Also, if you couldn't use the old ratio there would be limited backwards compatibility with the older versions - as it would mess up blocks such as I don't think this should be default, but it certainly should be an option in Scratch 3.0!
if on edge, bounce

Not really - if on edge, bounce is very simple and would not be broken by a simple aspect ratio change.I agree. Support for an option: the project will just show up in whichever ratio the project is created in. I don't recall seeing any computer screens with a ratio close to 4:3.

Actually, after thinking about it, Scratch 1.x's screen used to be a perfect square, then they made it longer in 2.0. Why not just do the same thing again in 3.0? It honestly doesn't really need to be an option, to be honest, most projects would probably work fine. (I think)

That would just make it get further and further from computer screen ratios and make fullscreen look even stranger.

But if you had a 4:3 project in a 16:9 window then you would have bars around the edge of what was the stage - except sprites would still be able to move over those bars. That means that sprites would bounce off the edge of the new stage, which might affect some projects. So it wouldn't actually be broken, but it might look weird on older projects.

I'm not saying make it a square, I'm saying you can just stretch it horizontally again. Like they did in 1.4-2.0, they didn't need to have an extra option, they just kinda did it.But why make it a Actually, after thinking about it, Scratch 1.x's screen used to be a perfect square, then they made it longer in 2.0. Semi-support, it seems more logical to let creators choose any arbitrary size they please for the screen.

Just quick thing I've noticed about the title:
4:3 ratio is not square.
1:1 is square.
4:3 ratio is not square.
1:1 is square.

There could be an option for 4:3 and 16:9 in the player. Old projects would be kept at 4:3, but they could be converted to 16:9.Not really - if on edge, bounce is very simple and would not be broken by a simple aspect ratio change.I agree.
