I think...[following a person requires permission]

I think that if someone wants to follow you, you have to accept something before they can officially follow you!!! And that you can dis-accept the question for the follow if you don't want them following you!!!!

If someone follows you it doesn't matter, it doesn't spam your inbox or anything. I mean, it gives you a message when you are followed but apart from that it doesn't really matter.

Also this would mean that basically nobody can follow Griffpatch anymore.

That's a solid point.

Also, this could hurt people's feelings. They will find out they got rejected by someone they look up to.

No support for the reasons above. This could promote bullying and basically you only follow a user to get updates.

No support. People will feel rejected and this could lead to bullying and other bad things.

However, note that even if these suggestions don't get added, this doesn't mean Scratch is bully free. Users can still bully by commenting, using projects, forum posts, studios, etc.

Why wouldn't you want someone to follow you? The point of following is to get new information when someone does something.

I agree here
How would this improve the site?

Yeah, I don't really see a point in this…

No support.

First of all, lots of famous Scratchers like griffpatch rarely if ever check their notifications. This means nobody will be able to follow them.

Second of all, why would somebody want to refuse a follow anyways?

Third of all, I can't see any way that this would benefit the site.

Oh I don't know!!! It was just a harmless idea that I had! I didn't think I would create such a hulabaloo about it!

Have you really never encountered the 60 second rule?

There's a system in place on the Scratch forums that prevents you from posting within 60 seconds of your last post, commonly known as the “60 second rule”.

If someone rejects their request to follow them.
