Why can't you delete your own comments (or at least report them)? Because sometimes, I post a comment but then 5 seconds later I take that back.

You can only delete comments on your projects/profile, but I agree, we should be able to delete our own comments.

Because if we were able to delete our own comments, then scenarios like this would happen on other people's projects/profile:
Mean Scratcher: ew, this sucks!
Scratcher: I'm reporting you.
Mean Scratcher: *deletes comment before Scratcher gets the chance*
Scratcher: ..What?
Mean Scratcher: ew, this sucks!
Scratcher: I'm reporting you.
Mean Scratcher: *deletes comment before Scratcher gets the chance*
Scratcher: ..What?

Unlikely and impossible are two very different things.Because if we were able to delete our own comments, then scenarios like this would happen on other people's projects/profile:
Mean Scratcher: ew, this sucks!
Scratcher: I'm reporting you.
Mean Scratcher: *deletes comment before Scratcher gets the chance*
Scratcher: ..What?
ok so the reason this is an unlikely scenario is because we no longer get notifications for deleted comments. if someone sends you a mean comment and then deletes it, the notification wont appear in your inbox once it is deleted. so the scenario where one person posts a mean comment and the other person gets the notification for it but is unable to report the comment before it is deleted seems kind of far-fetched to me
Even so, it happens more than you think.

Delete your comments on other peoples' projects
This is so that people can not post troll comments and then delete them, while you are not likely to troll people on your own projects, studios, or profile. On the forums, the solution to this is that you can only delete posts 24 hours after they have been posted, and deletes are not permanent.

Well what about at least reporting your own comments? So that the ST can decide whether or not to leave it.

what if you comment something but they delete or report it even if it's not mean or innapropriate? We'll look at the report and see that nothing is mean or inappropriate. In most cases we'll probably just ignore the report and assume it was sent accidentally. If we can tell that the user who reported you doesn't seem to understand the Community Guidelines, we'll send them a message explaining that we didn't find anything wrong with the content they reported.
Closed as resolved.
