One of my characters has an obsession with waffles, so she sometimes calls someone a ‘waffle’ or a ‘wafflehead’ but according to some site (I forgot which) it is a slang term for…. something bad. (if you know what I mean, don't say it, but basically it has to do with a disgusting internet trend)

would this be okay? If not, I can probably change it to pancakes, but I'll keep her waffle obsession since its somewhat of a running gag

maybe someone might take it the wrong way. But then again, you don't mean it that way, and I'm not sure many people know what it means. or you could say “waffle buddies”

basically, they just call the other character, Icy, a wafflehead when they annoy her.

If she loves waffles, shouldn't calling someone a waffle be less insulting that calling someone a pancake?

There is no reason. Say wafflehead if you want. Nothing bad will happen to you.

Say wafflehead. If someone reports you and you get an alert, let the Scratch Team know through the “Contact Us” section and say it was not supposed to be offensive in any way.

I would say you are allowed to call them Wafflehead but just make sure that if they tell you in some form of comment that they took offence,tell them why you said it dont just say“sorry ive got a waffle obbsession” say something like“i'm really sorry,i didnt mean to ofend you i just really like waffles they are so delicious”
