PS4 or Switch?
My brother currently has the decision to get either a Nintendo Switch or a PS4. What do you think he should get? Please tell me!

PS4 or Switch?
I would choose based off of exclusives. The Switch is receiving some triple-A third-party titles like Doom and Skyrim (wat).
The PS4 has Little Big Planet and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. The Switch has Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, and other games that people think are great. It's your choice, really. You can take the Switch with you, too. That's a plus.
There are also Indie game such as Undertale, Shovel Knight, Steamworld, and many others to consider because not all of them are on every platform.
I want the Switch because of the games the system is going to have, which is really what matters when it comes to choosing a system. I don't think graphics should matter in today's generations of consoles as long as they take steps forward instead of back.
Both of them are regarded as being solid platforms, so I would recommend chasing based off of games like I said earlier.

Switch
It’s more unique and likely more fun. It also has some great games on it.

PS4 or Switch?
Depends on his age. If he's younger, I'd say Switch since that tends to have more puzzle-y games or Zelda. If he's a bit older and can play more violent games, PS4. It has fantastic exclusives like Uncharted, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Bloodborne and The Last of Us - as well as the Spider-Man game coming next year - (haven't played them but they've all received critical acclaim) as well as non-exclusives like Rocket League, Dark Souls and Skyrim, just to name a few, none of which are on Switch (Skyrim is coming though).
So overall, I'd say PS4.

I'd personally say Switch - the fact that you can play home console games on the go is a very useful feature.

Switch, but encourage him to save up for a PS4 or a Vita.
I feel like the Switch is made for a more broad range of people.

i have the ps4 and i would definitely recommend the switch haha. it's a lot more convenient and unique, and doesn't make you pay for everything when you want to use different features. yeah im looking at you playstation
long run though, i'd save up for the bigger console for when you want to settle down at home for longer sessions and etc

If he's looking for a lot of different games, go for the PS4 - it has significantly more games than the Switch right now and there's loads of great exclusives. As for Switch, the main reason to buy one is for exclusives.
Basically it depends what types of exclusives he wants.

PS4. I have one. It has exclusives such as Horizon: Zero Dawn, Tearaway and many more. Also, Data. The PS4 has either 500GB or 1TB (I have the 1TB). Switch has 32GB, so it is pretty much worse than an iPad. Also, it scratches the screen if you put it in the dock.
It uses cartridges, so no discs. Although compact, you cannot play games that run on discs. You also can't transfer data from the Wii U to the Switch, so previous owners of a Wii U (like me) lose all data.
If I was to design the Switch prototype, it would have 500GB, get more games, transfer data from Wii U to switch and be more smash resistant, which it is not.

Switch. It uses cartridges so they don't break as easily as discs, like the DS family. I believe they made a new dock that prevents scratching. It sucks that you can't transfer Wii U data to the Switch, but the Wii U has a bigger library of games than the Switch, and I don't think you could link a Wii to the Wii U.

I know this isn't an option, but I'd say Xbox One. It has some good exclusive, and some good multiplats. (Plus, the multiplayer is probably better than PS4, and you can't even compare the Switch's online to Xbox and PS4 lol)

PS4. It has much better exclusives in my opinion, and either 500GB or 1TB storage. The switch just isn't worth it right now, as it has 32GB of storage, worse than my 2009 MacBook, and the exclusives on it are nothing more than Mario.

What does your brother like about the PS4 and Switch separately? Weighing up the differences and seeing which is better out of the two might help out on making a decision.

Exclusives shouldl be the main reasoning for what console you choose, here are a few noteworthy exclusives from both systems:
PS4:
Ratchet & Clank
Little Big Planet 3
Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy
(I really don't know about any more PS4 exclusives)
Switch:
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Splatoon 2
Super Mario Odyssey
(I could list more but I want the lists to have similar numbers)
Both of them look like great systems to me, but I think I would enjoy the Switch's game library more.
It's your brother's choice, though.
