You have stumbled upon or had been invited to my little collab based off of one of my favorite franchises, Sonic the Hedgehog.
About this Collab
Sonic Overdrive began as a project known as Sonic the Anime. This collab as previously dispersed and the meme res have went their own separate ways, but I wanted to keep some of the concepts and continuity alive. This is why I made this forum. This is the hub of sorts for the collab, we'll work on writing and pitch some different ideas here. We'll also decide on voice acting and show our work for the collab to other members.
How to Join
What's that? Are you interested in this little project? Would you like to be a part of this collaboration? Don't fear, there are two ways to join in.
1. Being personally invited by me to join the collab. If you accepted my invite, you are automatically in.
2. Create a project showing off your skill in a certain category, one that is a part of this series' development and something you enjoy doing. If I like your work, you might just be let in.
Rules
Stay within the continuity we create, based off of various Sonic the Hedgehog media.
Be Supportive and a nice to others.
Spam is no good!
Ideas and applications are always welcome, unless I say otherwise.
Feel free to tell other talented people and Sonic fans about the collab. I'll take a look at an application if they send one in or simply invite them.
About the Series
The series is a combination of the adventures and action Sonic is known for with subtle slice-of-life subplots and other stuff. The world of Sonic Overdrive is filled with strange events, exotic locations, and villains to foil. The series' continuity will stay close to Sonic's roots, but we'll also take lots of creative liberty! The animation style is a combination of Anime and Western/Flash-Style animation.
Characters
Here are just a few of the many characters I would love to have in the series (and a few that the series would not be cable to exist without):
Sonic the Hedgehog: The fastest thing alive and hero to many. Sonic is brace and quick to help his friends, right the wrongs, and do justice to those who threaten what he and those around him hold dear. Sonic can sometimes be a little cocky, though.
Miles “Tails” Prowler: Tails is a young fox that was born with two tails and a boy genius. He is almost always by Sonic's side and looks up to his buddy. Tails can even use his twin tails to fly! Other skills include piloting Sonic's biplane, the Torndao, and making inventions.
Knuckles the Echidna: Knuckes lives virtually by himself on Angel Island, guarding the Master Emerlad. He is a friendly rival and former enemy of Sonic and Tails. His time alone, fending for himself, has toughened Knuckles up, but under his somewhat rugged look and super strength, he has a massive soft spot for nature. Maybe the animals and Chao he bonded with have helped him survive in the wild.
Amy Rose: A twelve-year-old girl that loves Sonic. She'll travel to the ends of the Earth just be with him. Amy is armed with a giant mallet known as the Piko Piko hammer, which was a gift from her father. She is also fascinated with fortune-telling and mystical things.
Dr. Eggman: A mad scientist with an IQ of 300. His goals are simple: Bring the world under his rule and turn it unstoppable his ideal mechanized “paradise” and defeating Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends.
Sally Acorn: Sally is the princess of the Acorn Kingdom, but isn't a typical ruling figure. She cares deeply fro her family, friends, and people and will gladly stand and fight. Her looks and skills are well beyond conventional. Don't underestimate her.
Nicole the Holo-Lynx: Sally's best friend, ally, and a sentient computer with a very strong A.I.
Vector the Crocodile: A struggling private detective with a love for music and money. He'll do what he can for those in need with his friend and comrades by his side.
Espio the Chameleon: Ninja-in-Training and Vector's best friend. He helped co-found the Chaotix, Vector's detective agency.
Charmy Bee: Chramy is the youngest Chaotix member. Being only six-years-old, his mind is all over the place and sometimes his hyperactive personality gets in the way of the goals of others- for better or worse.
Zooey: A young, soft-spoken, and shy vixen that lives in Metropolis. She's also kind and sweet-natured and very grateful to whose who help her. Tails and Zooey seem to share some kind of platonic relationship.
Orbot: Orbot is a robot crated by a young Dr. Eggman. He's surprisingly smart and durable, unlike most of Eggman's creations.
Cubot: Orbot's cube-like counterpart. He's more dim-witted than Orbot and tends to annoy others with his voice.
Cream the Rabbit: A young, six-year-old bunny that lives with her mother and Severus Chao in Green Hill Zone. Cream loves drawing, playing outside, and sometimes watching TV. What she enjoys the most, though, is being with her friends.
Cheese the Chao: Cream's adorable Chao pet and friend.
Vanilla the Rabbit: Cream's loving mother; her teachings have led Cream to be the person she is today.
Antonie ‘Dcoolette: The skittish captain of the Acorn Kingdom’s Royal Guard.
Rotor Walrus: Rotor is a mechanic and inventor that lives in the distant Ice Cap Zone. When he's not working at Arctic Base, he's usually hanging out with Sally and her freinds. He can be a bit clumsy at times.
Bunnie Rabbot: Another close friend of Sally Acorn. She lives in Cyclone Desert and also enjoys tinkering and mechanic work. Bunnie is part robot due to past injuries, but her robotic limbs grant her brand new skills. She's amost always looking on the bright side of things.
E-123 Omega: Omega is a former Eggman robot that is now a member of the G.U.N. and a personal assistant of Rouge the Bat. Don't get on his bad side or you might be in some trouble.
Rouge the Bat: Rouge is a spy and jewel collector that'll do anything for treasure. She dreams of adding the Master Emerald to her collection. Rouge is known for trying to charm those who oppose her and her martial art skills that rival the likes of Knuckles himself.
Relic the Pika: A young scientist that loves exploring the world. Studying history and ancient civilizations are her passions in life.
Fixit: Relic's robotic companion.
Tikal: A young encidna spirit that inhabits Angel Island and a true pacifist with a love for nature, the Chao, and her friends.
Please note that every character listed will be a part of every episode; it might be a few episodes before his or her first appearance, too.

I'm very happy to hear it! I'd be glad to hear about some of your ideas, as I haven't really had a chance to think of some of my own yet.

Current Pilot Episode Idea:
After his latest defeat at the hands of Sonic, Dr. Eggman begins to develop a special variant of this Robotizer. With his latest creation, Eggman sets his sights on turning a mobian into one of his mechanical minions. His choice for a Guinea Pig (meaning the person being experimented on), Vanilla the Rabbit. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, and Cheese race to infiltrate Dr. Eggman's fortress to save Vanilla before it's too late.
I know it sounds kind of dark, but I don't plan on the episode to be too dark.

*EDIT* It says in the first post you want a demonstration of my work. I guess I'll just make a project for it…?

Yeah, it's a rough draft, but maybe we could do something with it.

All right. Do you want me to maybe try and add some more development to your idea? I could write a script for it as-is and see what you think.

I had an idea for how the episode could star, maybe we could build on it from there…

I really should work on coming up with some plot ideas… Nothing has come to mind so far, but it shouldn't be too long before something does.

Alright, I procrastinated typing this up for far too long:
-My current idea for the pilot but it's not complete yet, so I'll need help with the writing because this is a collab-
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are in Green Hill, crouched side-by-side in a starting position. Sonic looks left and right towards Tails and Knuckles, respectively.
Sonic: Ready? *brief pause* Go!
The three take off in separate directions, we then see Sonic (from the side) go into a spindash and jumping off of a slope, leading him to a bunch of springs. He lands and dashes though a loop and onto a Zip-Line. He noitces Tails by his side, flying.
Sonic: Hey, no fair!
Tails: But you're using a Zip-Line.
Sonic: Ugh, you got me.
Sonic leaps from the Zip-Line and dashes up to a rock shaped like a Goal Ring.
Sonic: I win!
Tails: I didn't expect any less from you, Sonic. What should we do next?
Sonic: *looking around* I dunno. *sees something* Wait, what's that?
Camera changes and we see Sonic and Tails looking out over a cliff.
Tails: Looks like Dr. Eggman and his robots. What should we do, Sonic?
Sonic: Only one thing to do!
'Sonic jumps to the land below, landing on an Egg Pawn in the process. The other robots turn towards Sonic and proceed to attack. Sonic fends them off with a Sweeping Kick and a Head Spin (the break dance move). Sonic then jumps onto an animal capsule.
Sonic: Game over, Egghead.
The dust clears and Dr. Eggman, Orbot, and Cubot are seen in complete shock. The doctor realizes what happened after he notices Sonic.
Dr. Eggman: You little, you little! *Sonic causally leans on the side of the Eggmobile* I've been working hard on that!
Sonic: Hard work? Looks like your robots were doing all the work.
Eggman: If you had an empire, you would understand. Now hold still.
Sonic: What's that? I can't hear you. *Sonic jumps and kicks the blaster out of Eggman's hand and then ;ands another kick the the Eggmobile, sending Eggman, Orbot, Cubot, and the Eggmbile flying*
Tails flies down and lands next to Sonic on the capsule.
Tails: You did it, Sonic!
Sonic: All in a day's work.
Sounds of chirping are heard from below. It's the Flickies Sonic rescued.
Sonic: *looks at the animals* No need to thank me, I'll always be around to help. Or one of my friends, at least.
The Flickies happily jump up and down and cheer for Sonic.
Tails: Um, Sonic, what happened to Knuckles?
???: *from above* What are you guys doing down here? *camera pans up and we see the owner of the voice is Knuckles* The finish line is up here. I guess I'm the winner this time, right?
Sonic and Tails are seen from the front with a look of exasperation/surprise, Anime style. We then see Knuckles land in front of the two.
Tails: Not necessarily, we just had some trouble with Dr. Eggman.
Knuckles: If I knew there was a battle, I would have gotten here much faster! Don't leave me out on the next one, alright?
Sonic and Tails look and each other, shrugs, and turn back to Knuckles.
Sonic: We'll try if you're in the area.
Knuckles: Fair enough.
The screen fades out and we see Dr. Eggman in his fortress, sitting in his chair at the computer room.
Dr. Eggman: That insolent hedgehog and his rodent friends always beat me! I've tried nearly everything and none of my plans have succeeded.
Orbot: Perhaps you need to-
Dr. Eggman: Silence!
Eggman picks up a rabbit and begins to look at it.
Dr. Eggman: Perhaps, it's my power source. These tiny animals lack of intelligence and strength might just be leading to my plans failing. Maybe it's time to work on a bigger, more malicious scale. Orbot, Cubot! round up the troops, we've got some upgrades to do!
As Dr. Eggman finishes that sentence, the rabbit bites Dr. Eggman with him yelling “ouch” in response and runs away.
Dr. Eggman: I'll have no need for those filthy woodland rodents in due time…
The screen fades to black. Meanwhile, Cream and Cheese are playing in the garden outside their cottage while Vanilla is gardening. Cream and Cheese are overcome with a shadow and stop in their tracks, looking up in shock. The shadow turns out to be Eggman in his Eggmobile.
Dr. Eggman: Hello sweet Cream. I'll need you and your Chao to step aside, please.
Cream and Cheese are cowering in fear.
Cream *stammering in fear*: Mr. Eggman, please don't hurt us.
Dr. Eggman: I'm not going to hurt any of you, I just need to “borrow” something.
He flies over the where Vanilla is.
Dr. Eggman: Hello, Miss Rabbit
The screen fades to black once again. We now see Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles walking down a path. Sonic finishes the last bite of his Chili Dog.
Sonic: Today's been a good day.
Tails: I think we should be heading back home now.
Suddenly, Cream and Cheese run up to the trio, panicked.
Cream: Mr. Sonic, Mr. Tails, help!
Cheese: Chao, Chao
Knuckles: What about me?
Sonic: What happened Cream?
Cream: That meanie Eggman took mama.
Tails: Do you know why?
Cream: H-he was t-talking about having bigger fish to f-fry. But mama isn't a fish.
Tails: That's just a figure of speech. He isn't going to fry you mother.
Sonic: There's no time to waste here! Who know what kind of experiments Eggman has in store for Miss Vanilla.
Tails: Right, let's go! Cream, Cheese why don't you come along and help us out?
Cream and Cheese perk up.
Cream: I would love to!
Cheese: Chao!
Knuckles: What about me?
Sonic, Tails, Cream, and Cheese head off with Knuckles trailing behind.
That's all I have so far. I'm not much of a details person, but I tried to throw in a few small details. I need some help finhishing uup the plot, which involves Dr. Eggman upgrading his robotizer to robotize Mobians and Sonic and friends trying to stop him before he turns Vanilla into a robot. I think the episode should end in a battle with Vanilla being rescued. I would also like to have Amy in the episode and maybe a few other characters… I would love to see what ideas you guys have for what happens next in the episode!
