52 years ago today was the unassuming meeting of the Beatles and Brian Epstein at NEMS. The rest is history.

Also, Rubber Soul was released in the US three days after the British LP, so today marks its 48th year since the American release on 6 December, 1965. It is one of my personal favourite albums of all time.
I like that one, but I'd have to say its follow up is my favourite Beatles album.

RIP John Lennon, who died 33 years ago today (October 9, 1940 - December 8, 1980). Still remembered dearly in our hearts.

A 11-year-old fan over here. In fourth grade, I sang a solo in Penny Lane.

IN PENNY LANE THERE IS A BARBER SHOWING PHOTOGRAPHS…

That's from memory. :3

Don't get me started on the lyrics for that song, or any other Beatles one for that matter…

Penny Lane there is a barber showing photographs
Of every head he's had the pleasure to know
And all the people that come and go
Stop and say hello……….

This is a thread for discussing the Beatles, so most of the people who post here like them. Please don't ‘advertise’ your page - and also, a kind reminder to keep this Beatles related.

Who said what, and how is what I said in any way not Beatles related? I was simply telling you not to advertise your page (that incidentally has nothing to do with the Beatles) on a thread meant for discussion about the rock group.

Rock is a rather broad term, and the term has been used to describe them a lot because their music was very much varied. There's no genre called “smothe rock”.

I haven't really been posting around on the forums lately, but George's birthday was not forgotten! Happy belated birthday wishes for the 25th to the guitar god and master musician. Alas, “All Things Must Pass”, even George Harrison…

Also, happy Beatles Day today in the US!

Too many good ones to name, and I definitely don't think I could name a favorite, but one I've been particular fond of recently (had stuck in my head) is “Let It Be”. Great sound, and it has this amazing serenity to it.
