(My suggestion is based off of this, but it's a bit clearer.)

So now that Catalonia has declared independence, Catalonians on here should be able to pick this as the country that they live in. So basically, I'm suggesting that Catalonia should be added to that country list.

EDIT: Maybe Catalonians who have already picked a different country like Spain should have the ability to go back and change it to Catalonia.

Support, some independence-leaning Catalonians might not want to choose Spain as their country.

A Trump spokesperson has already to come out to say they support Spain keeping Spain united. So, I am not sure Catalonia gets to be its own country.

I see Spanish police tried to stop the vote and actually shut down polling stations. Because of that, and the outcome recorded so far, I am going to have to support the Catalonian people in their bid for independence.

The only thing that destroys this suggestion is if Spain takes action against this decision (which is a possibility, since I've seen many articles about Spain trying to stop this). So it is possible that Catalonia will go back to being a state, but right now it is an independent country.

The decision had a 70-10 vote btw for leaving Spain.

I'm not sure how legitimate Catalonia is at this point. I think that the Scratch Team should wait and see what will happen in the future. However, adding a Catalonia option now would be a political statement.

That is a very good point

Yeah, at this point the will of the people is known.

70-10 was what the legislators voted after the people voted over 90% in favor for independence.

And that was even after police tried to stop the people from voting:

Police are supposed to stop violence, not speech.

If a country recently became independent from Spain, then it should definitely be added. If Russia split into West and East Russia, those would be replaced. If North and South Korea unify, then the list should change to simply “Korea”.

Well, currently no one recognizes it as a country. I still support the option. The spanish government has acted the opposite of a good government and are silencing the outcry.
