Am I the only one to notice that Cuphead kinda looks a lot of Bendy and the Ink Machine?
The slogan for the game is Don't deal with devil, it sounds weird to me but… since the game was made in Sep 29, it got so much popularity! I don't know how but… to me these 2 games are kinda similar to you might not… but to me…. yeah, It does look kinda similar and a look a like, despite Cuphead is just a game that the filter is so vintage… I have never played Undertale, Bendy, or Cuphead…

the artstyle is similar. Undertale is good, don't hate on it, it's just parts of the community is garbage and that it sometimes is a tad overrated. Bendy is severely overrated. Cuphead is interesting. The slogan for the game is Don't deal with devil, it sounds weird to me but… since the game was made in Sep 29, it got so much popularity! Yeah the community is bad even though I don't play the game but you see on Animatronic World on roblox a bunch of people rp as Undertale characters and Gombert22 (or gommy) Maybe added a new rule idk but He doesn't want people to rp undertale…the artstyle is similar. Have you seen the video Game Theory made on B.a.t.I.M? If you haven't, you should absolutely watch it. (Just yesterday they released their second video covering the game, but I mean the first video they did on it. I could probably link it if you wanted.)
I bring this video up because it demonstrates and defines the two styles of the day and age when Bendy is set: Disney VS Fleischer. The video goes into so much more detail covering this topic, but to sum it up: Disney's style of animation was much more realistic and whimsical, and family-friendly, while the Fleischers worked with gritty and more mature topics in their animation, and their style was very loose and much more unrealistic.
I think this is where the similarities come in to play. Cuphead, to me, feels like a very even blend of both the “Disney” and “Fleischer” styles (come on, don't tell me you didn't immediately think “Disney” when you saw the game for the first time). Disney in the fact that the animation/gameplay/characters are colorful and lively, and very cartoony in a style that would be particularly appealing to kids, but with very dark and mature and possibly even scary elements in it as well that, for someone uneducated on the game, would be very jarring and surprising to encounter, not to mention the dark sense of humor the game has.
And yet Bendy, to me, feels entirely from the Fleischer side. (not too surprising there). Bendy, Alice and the others have a kind of cutesy look to them, but the overall tone is still very dark.
And, as has already been established, both games do deal heavily with “demonic” and “spiritual” motifs in the story and gameplay.
Long story short: yes, these games do have a feeling of “familiarity” to me, but not really in the sense that I feel as though one of them directly influenced off the other, but that they both took inspiration and similar elements from already-famous companies and people.

They look similar because they're both inspired by 1930s cartoons, just in two very different ways. One has almost the exact same style as old cartoons, while the other has the same sort of feel without replicating it.

Okay fine… tomorrow I'll close this topic They look similar because they're both inspired by 1930s cartoons, just in two very different ways. One has almost the exact same style as old cartoons, while the other has the same sort of feel without replicating it.

Yeah, if you ever watch one of those old cartoons, you'll see that the style is directly based off of it. Part of the reason that I find Cuphead so cool is that the animation is really authentic.

Bendy is a character from the time where animation still used rubber-hose animation, which is the same style of animation Cuphead uses The slogan for the game is Don't deal with devil, it sounds weird to me but… since the game was made in Sep 29, it got so much popularity!
