2. No, during July last year because of the Wii U.

1. There is an option in the settings in Mario Kart Wii so people don't see your name
2. You can still play Nintendo WFC and tournements (that require WiiConnect24) Just turn on WiiConnect24 even if its not avaible and play on Nintendo WFC

I realize that it is a really really old product, but I mean, I still have a ton of DS games that I play on occasion. I don't want the whole next gen 1080p crazy multiplayer stuff. If I did, I would buy a PS4 or an XBOX One. I just want simple, no nonsense, multiplayer mariokart. Maybe instead of shutting it down, they can just downsize it. I don't know…

Wiiconect24 wasn't exactly shutdown, but it was removed from the Wii U. It probably isn't a Money problem, it eventually gets hard to maintain an online mode for a console/handheld.

I think their shutting it down to make more RAM and HDD for Mario kart 8. After all, it's been shut down The day that comes out

Back on topic, I don't mind so much about Wi-Fi being shut down, because I never used it on my Wii or DS (besides Smash Bros.).
That's just my personal opinion, though.

Nintendo is getting rid of all online server not only for Mario Kart Wii, but also for all other games on the Wii and Nintendo DS. Good thing they're not shutting it down on the 2DS or the 3DS

Nope, you asked no question. You were contradicting my facts, which I was just saying to say that this discussion should be closed. If anyone should reply to my post, it should be the creator of this thread. Plus, I didn't facepalm your question about the month, now, did I? Also, Mario Kart Wii is a Wii game. The Wii has a friend code that actually has to show the people's names.

I started this forum, and now there is a whole bunch of posts before mine.. the one that i posted first and started this. can someone explain what is going on, how the subject changed, and how post appeared form before i ever created this forum? thaanks to those who read this and reply.

wow lol and yes i did create this forum… except it was called “Good Bye, Nintendo Wi-Fi”. and then it was changed to Nintendo wifi discontinuing. when i go to meh mail it says new posts in nintendo wifi discontinuing. i used to get mail that said that there were posts in good bye nintendo wifi. lol wow idk if its a merginf. liek i said, idk. the same posts that were in my forum are in this one too, and i cant find my forum titled goodbye nintendo wifi. can u guys explain furthur? just ask the people who originally replied after my first post.
