Remove One Account Per Email Rule

EDIT: The email I was trying to use finally sent, so I can activate the account. However, I still don't see the point of having this notification
I'm going to close this thread now
______________________________________________________________________________________________

I recently tried to make a new account and was met with a notification across maybe four or so of my accounts using that email:

(New account was created on: October 15th, 2017 around 2AM UTC)

So basically what I'm saying is we shouldn't be confined to one account per email
  • I see no point in having this restriction
The only thing I could think of is to prevent confusion if someone accidentally typed the wrong email somehow. The major problem with this theory is that I got the notification on my main account, as if they knew it was me doing it.
  • Having multiple accounts can be useful, and do not typically cause problems
Many users have test accounts, including myself. These can be used to show progress, new ideas, or things one may not want to share on his/her main account.
  • If someone wants to make a side account, the effort to do so is increased
Since you can't use the same email address twice, the only way to bypass this would be to create a new email. This not only takes up time, but defeats the purpose of having the rule as there is a way to get around it. Additionally, there's a new email address and password to remember.

I am all for the changes being made for Scratch 3, but this is one thing I'd rather the ScratchTeam reverse. I don't know why this doesn't occur for some people, but this should be fixed.

Hold on, it blocks you from using the same email on multiple accounts? Didn't do that for me. Is there anything that could be causing you to have the issue, but not me? Maybe the age of the person (I know there's something that changes during account creation if you're 13+ [at least I think it's on this site], but I'm not sure) is something that's being taken into account here?

Same I haven't had that issue. You should contact the Scratch Team.

Maybe ST/the bots did not know they created a new account, therefore gave them an alert. It doesn’t seem fair though…
Also because the ST know of my accounts, and know that they belong to me. They wouldn’t of known when the new account was created though.

It’s not a good thing… okay, in my case where I’m not allowed to delete my old accounts, yes, but…

Yes, I got this notification and now I can no longer make new accounts with that email (tried, refuses to send me a verification link). I absolutely despise how everyone's immediate reaction - on my thread and yours - is “use Contact Us.” That feature sucks and I have never once been successfully helped by using it, which is understandable because the Scratch Team is busy and likely gets dozens and dozens of emails a day, but it should not be the first thing people suggest because it's mediocre at best. This alert needs to be removed, mega 100% support.
Maybe not removed… it could come in useful if someone used the email against its owner, let’s say creates an account with their email just to confuse them. But it shouldn’t send it to innocent people.

Yes. But it could take three days or more for them to reply. Unfortunately, I only ever get unhelpful replies or misunderstandings.

It's a good thing that people can't make alt accounts anymore. I abused this myself when it was still allowed it's not a good thing and it causes undue stress on the scratch db servers.

I've made quite a few accounts using the same email and I've never gotten this message. I can't say support or no support because I don't see that this is even happening.
