Nintendo WFC Discontinuing
Wow. I just checked to see if this was legit, and it is. Honestly, how dumb can they get? First, the WiiU, and now they're shutting off Nintendo Wi-Fi for NDS and Wii games? Good luck with staying popular, Nintendo.

My friend code is 0262-1268-8909. My friend code is 0131-5414-6794 but we need both our friend codes to be friends on it. What's your friend code?

Progress! Why are they doing that? They're taking down the wifi for DS and Wii in May. Meaning no more going on Mario Kart Wii online. What do you mean? Not much time left to play online! Nintendo are pulling the plug for online match making on the 20th of may for DS and wii, this does not effect 3DS or Wii U though.
Kidding aside I believe they're trying to finally implement an online system that is marginally more user friendly than a cow in a shopping trolley. Out with the old, in with the new. Personally it feels a little soon but those are the breaks.

The Wii was NOT a dumb idea in an way. Their marketing tactics, and the fact that it's sadly under-powered, are what is making it very unpopular. Wow. I just checked to see if this was legit,
2. It takes way too much money to host these servers. Also, why should they keep them up for so long? They're a company, and they want people to move to their latest products, not stay on the old ones.

GUYS. Sorry for the bold, but you seem mistaken. They are only shutting off wi-fi for the DS/Lite/DSi and the original Wii, not the Wii U or 3DS. Only the outdated systems.

Does that include Netflix, because that is the only thing I use my Wii for anymore?

I'm pretty sure that this does not include Netflix. It may, though. Does that include Netflix, because that is the only thing I use my Wii for anymore?
EDIT: It's staying.
“You’ve probably seen the headlines about Nintendo shutting down its online services for Wii and DS/DSi. Don’t panic–all that’s going is the gaming stuff, which is only used by a tiny percentage of Wii players anyway. The Wii and DS’s ability to perform matchmaking, leaderboards, and online play will cease on 20 May, worldwide. It’s a smart move by Nintendo, as the company looks to offset some of the losses suffered by Wii U by trimming services no longer required by its customers.” - GamesRadar

1. Friend codes aren't personal…Sadly, I cannot do it for 2 reasons:
Mario Kart Wii is a very fun game and it will be cool if I can get some friend codes for online playing so I can play with Scratchers. Just tell me your friend code and I can friend you and someday we could play together. Thanks. This is not really a place to put this thread. Put it somewhere else, like a gaming website. That wouldn't be of use, anyway, because you can't have friends on the Wii anymore. Sorry

WiiConnect24 services are no longer available.
2. I thought that happened during May?

ya, u can still migrate from gameboy advance games into DPP HGSS, and u can still use the transfer lab in black and white to get stuff from DPP HGSS to BWB2W2, and Pokemon bnk to get pokemon from gen 4 and 5 to X and y. u can still do that *, its the gts trading and wi-fi battles that will be taken down.

nope Is it weird that I never used the GTS on any DS games?
Mainly because I didn't know it existed back then…

1. Well, for the wii, you can see people's names in friend codes.
2. Yep. But I think it was delayed.

It's just for people will say“aw,no nintendo WiFi anymore on those games,i'll buy another console” and will buy another console then Nintendo will get ca$h. I think it's just for money.

Welcome to the real world. Without money, that computer that you are sitting next to would not exist. Without money, none of the consoles that Nintendo made would not exist. Money is the driving force behind MANY inventions. I think it's just for money.

But I thought they shut down the wi-fi connection because they were LOW on money?
