Scratch Device Manager wont start

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 56.0.2924.87, Flash 25.0 (release 0)
Hi
This is repost of quiestion from Bugs and Glitches forum. Perhaps here someone can help.

I'm trying to setup scratch + lego wedo 2 on asus zenbook ux305 that supports bluetooth 4.0
The machine can connect to wedo 2. We wanted to do some project in scratch that uses wedo. We followed instructions and installed Scratch Device Manager. Trying to run it fails. The application shows for a moment in tasks manager then disappears. I tries to find some logs but didn find anything useful. Let me know what can be the problem or how can I find any more info.
The app seems to be crashing immediately after start.
It is not running in the background.

Scratch Device Manager wont start

I'm having the same problem, trying to install the Scratch Device Plugin for the BBC Micro:bit. The install dialog comes up, looks like it installs ok, then disappears, and there is no plugin listed in Extensions although the Scratch Device Plugin Helper is there (?) .

I am using Chrome on Windows 10.

Darren.

me too! I am also using BBC Micro:bit.
I find in another discussion group (https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/185407/), saying “It's caused by net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error in JavaScript. You just have to set up you TCP/IP v.4 DNS address on the network adapter you are using (it's not important using browser or offline editor). Try for example google's DNS 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 or any DNS address from your ISP.

Scratch Device Manager wont start

Wow that helped indeed. So not having a specified DNS is causing a Scratch Device Manager to silently crash?
I would blush with embarrasment and fisi it asap.
