Regarding "IP bans"

I remember a while ago I was using scratch on my tablet and a notification popped up saying that the whole IP address had been banned from scratch because it had been use the break the guidelines too many times. I didn't know what this meant and I'd never received any notifications about breaking the guidelines before so I was naturally a bit scared…
I stopped using scratch on my tablet and everything went back to normal. I was still able to access scratch on my laptop so I assumed it was just a glitch.
I've since found out what an IP ban is and I was wondering if what I received was just a glitch… Has anyone else had similar experiences?

If you were using Puffin, then yes, it's just a glitch. It's because of how Puffin is designed.

Yeah, the IP addresses on Puffin were often used for things like commercial spamming and making spambots, so you might have been assigned one that was blocked.

Some people get assigned an IP that was blocked because of spamming.
