Problem with scenery
Hello everyone,
short question. I want to upload a scenery which I made. I saved it as a jpg.file with a resolution of 1920x1080. When I upload it, the quality looks awful, but why? Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you in advance and greetings from Germany.

If you're loading it as a backdrop it will be changed to 480 x 360. You might be better making sure it is that size yourself before uploading.

I tried this several times before but the quality was still the same as when i uploaded it normally. The background itself looks very good, only when I upload it on Scratch as a scenery the quality gets bad

Yes you can. It doesn't matter which picture I upload, when I do so, the quality looks awful.

So basically I downloaded this picture and saved it on my desktop. When I upload it on Scratch the quality goes from good to bad.
It happenes with every picture.

Okay I think that the best that you can get is making it 480 x 360 because I don't think that you can get better quality than that.

There are two possibilities: Hello everyone,

1). The file is too big for scratch to upload, meaning it either will have terrible quality or will just be a black screen.
2). The picture itself is too big and (Assuming that it's bitmap) has to be downsized and will ensure terrible quality.
And if your wondering 1 GB is cutting it close to scratch's upload limit.
I'm happy to help and welcome to scratch!

Okay, I did it exactly like you told me. When I press fullscreen the picture still looks bad.If you're loading it as a backdrop it will be changed to 480 x 360. You might be better making sure it is that size yourself before uploading.
Do that @dec26 said.
Also import the image as a vector, open the costume editor with Scractch cat, select the costume and click clear, then import.

Well the file is 773 KB.
And it is 1920x1080 but is this too big?

I did it by opening th SB2 file(offline) with a decompressor(7zip) and replacing the tiny PNG version with a bigger PNG version. (not vector)
Do not open the costume editor or it will be cropped.

Okay thank you very much, I tried it by myself with a new picture but its not working, maybe because I'm tired.
