I'm pretty sure Princess Toadstool is the original name for Peach in Japan.

She was always called peach in japan, but when SMB went to America, they renamed her Princess Toadstool.
for the first time in 1993 she was called “Peach” but went back to toadstool.
But in supre malleo 65 (Super Mario 64) they called her both for some reason, and then from malleo cart 65 (Mario Kart 64) “Peach” was always the name.
