Feature where you can revert back to old Scratch style
Sorry Scratch but it's not 1998, that's what this new webpage design looks like (no offence, just don't like the new design Scratch Team)
The homepage and search/explore didn't really bother me, but my messages, which I check often, is really annoying.
I suggest a feature to revert back to the old style. You could click on your username at the top and and underneath the “Account settings” or “Sign out” option, there could be an option that says “Don't like the new Scratch style?”. When you click on it, it will ask “Are you sure?” and say that you can change back to the new design with Account settings. On the “Are you sure” box, you could choose which pages you would like to keep the new style with (I have gotten used to the homepage and search)

Feature where you can revert back to old Scratch style
Pretty sure someone is already developing a userstyle or something for that purpose.
I don't think this should be added because no other site has this feature, and you'll just get used to it. I loved the new messages page, I think it looks nicer, but it's not as practical and productive as the older one.

Pretty sure someone is already developing a userstyle or something for that purpose.YouTube has this feature, I believe. I got used to the homepage and search, but I simply don't like this one. Doesn't look good, hard to tell new messages, and pages with the new design's messages icon are out of sync with the actual number (old design).

This would be so much work for ST and hardly anyone would use it. Personally, I like the new design. It isn't even that different! It looks so much cleaner, I don't see how it looks 1998 to you. Anyways, no Support

It definitely doesn't look like 1998. If they have to let people use older versions of the wesite every time they make an update people will never accept change. You said your seld that you got used to the others, I am sure you will get used to the design too. They can still make changes and updates to the design for things people dislike. Personally, I like it, it's better done than before. Another problem with using the older design is that the don't work near as well on mobile.

Support. I liked the old style of the messages page and now it looks like something that belongs on a social media site, which creeps me out a little bit. I don't see what's wrong with giving users more options on how to make the website look.
Pretty sure someone is already developing a userstyle or something for that purpose.Other sites do have this feature. The cave of Dragonflies has a style switcher that allows you change the look of the site. Pokefarm has a site skin feature that allows you to change how the site looks and two of their official skins makes the site look like older versions.

The other ones were just a reskin, this one is a complete redesign.

I think it's more productive to work on improving the new page, rather than totally ignore it and switch to the old page.
Also – this isn't really technically possible. The new Scratch pages are completely made with new code. You know how forum sites often let you pick between different styles? The only difference there is the “stylesheet” code; that's the code that actually makes your page look nice. The problem is, the stylesheet for the new messages page is completely different from the stylesheet for the old messages page. It's almost like they're written in a different language. You simply can't replace the new one with the old one, without bringing back all the old code.
(Bringing back all the old code is definitely not good; it means that the Scratch Team has to constantly make sure it's working, and they can't improve its quality (since that would defeat the point!), and they have to keep around the old supporting code, too. All this is generally bad if you want to continue developing a site!)

What about the way it looks? It seems like you just dislike the change. They can also make updates to make new things more clear, you don't have to get rid of the whole thing. What is it that you dislike about it?Just the way it looks. It is also hard to tell what is new and what isn't.

You have to accept the change, there is no going back really. There are probably many more coming as well.
(also I'm wondering too, how does it look 1998?)

I think it's more productive to work on improving the new page, rather than totally ignore it and switch to the old page.Wait they changed the code too? I thought it was just a graphics change. I guess that's why the messages icon is out of sync.

Pretty much everything about the way it looks. This new, modern, “metro”, “flat design” design that websites are using looks very 1998 in my opinion. What about the way it looks? It seems like you just dislike the change. They can also make updates to make new things more clear, you don't have to get rid of the whole thing. What is it that you dislike about it?Just the way it looks. You have to accept the change, there is no going back really. There are probably many more coming as well.I doubt anyone would like it if the forums was changed so everything was in different places and it's hard to navigate. That's pretty much the messages page for me (hard to navigate: hard to find which messages are new, no pages).
(also I'm wondering too, how does it look 1998?)
Also metro design or whatever it's called just looks 1998 to me.

It really doesn't look like a website from 1998. If it looks like it's from 1998 how can it be modern? Also, what do you need to navigate? It seems easy enough to use.

No Support. it does not look like 1998. -_-
1998 sites didn't even look like that at the time! They looked much more older? What's your point?
Deal with it, Scratch Team will not revert any updates that they think won't be such as harm.

Seriously though, I think that they should add an option to revert back to the old style.

Also another reason why I want the old one back is that this one is extremely buggy. On the older part of the site it has my actual messages count but on the messages page sometimes it still says that there is something new.

Shouldn't the ST just fix the glitch here? It'd be kinda awkward to update the page and revert it a few days after.

Do you even know what a site from 1990s looks like? Let's take a Google Search.

I don't think that a website from that time is comparable to Scratch. Heck, it doesn't even compare to what the websites look like today with all that clutter and somewhat complicated structure.
And do we really want to stay in the past here in this case? It doesn't make sense to me that we are scared of a website changing… Like, what's the point in that??? This is new, and things that are new sometimes have flaws. Give them time to work it out.
