Wall detection is really hard, and the worst part is that in languages like java you don't even do wall detection… so I can't learn from tutorials

Stranded v1.17 is released.
It contains leaves and sticks underneath trees, and only being able to chop down trees with axes. If you don't use an axe, then more leaves and sticks will be dropped, until the tree loses all of its leaves.
What I'm going to be working on
I'm going to stop working on the base game for a bit. Instead, I'm going to be working on implementing features like “XP” for getting better at tools.
Once I think I've got these features to a working level, I will then update the base game. Another example would be a fishing mechanic. They would be in a controlled environment (no random generation, no having to obtain the items, etc), so that they would be very easy to test, but coded so that they can be brought into the game really easily. It would be great for feedback and testing.
Any concepts under the “ideas” section might also be played with to have a playable version to decide whether it would be in the game.

I am working on a new update.
Here's a screenshot from what I have been doing (It's still in progress.)

There are a bunch of other things I want to add to the UI and change in this updated inventory, but it is the general UI I want to show off here.
The bar of icons will be heavily changed.
The Changes
If this style of UI works well, it will hopefully be coming to the other tabs as well: a new crafting UI, a new player tab UI (it might be combined with the inventory tab?), and all the others.

There is an all tab, as well as tabs that sort by type (food, materials, tools, weapons, maybe more?) when using one of these tabs, only items that fall under that category will show up. - Other Features
There should be further refinements and small features added to the inventory in this update.
Oh yeah, and hopefully a scrolling item list!

I like it!
I always thought the old menu was a bit intrusive.
How will the crafting menus work, though?

I like it!
I always thought the old menu was a bit intrusive.
How will the crafting menus work, though?
Crafting could work with a similar UI style, with an mini-inventory on the side, your selected items in the middle, and resulting items on the right. I'll look into that though.

Menus so far
I have updated the inventory, crafting, and pause screen to the new design.
Keep in mind this may change as functionality is added. Currently there are no new features, just the design. I will be adding sorting by item in the inventory, a page indicator, new UI for carving and cooking, re-positioning the items, a better animation between pages (the current fade doesn't work well with this design) and more before the update is released. I have also removed the “player” page, because it was designed for equipping stuff, which I think makes more sense from the inventory page.
