So, this is 1879, as described up top ^. Uhm, yeah. So, here's what it's about:
It's about a man named Jacob (no, this ain't a Twilight fanfic, I stole my cousin's name. Love ya. Come visit me soon, and bring your guitar) who is somehow living forever, and he's trying to sort out what he did in his past, and how he can fix it and die. That sounds horrible, I know. It starts in 1879, then bounces around the late 1800s and the mid 1700s. It's pretty cool, actually. So, Jacob is trying to die, and in the meantime, he's… aww crud, what else is he trying to do? Jacob is… what, he's 153, but he's not a ghost, or a Time Lord, he just is, sooo…. this didn't look as great as it did in my head. Shut up. Lemme work with it. But yeah, that's the summary. I'll include add the characters and their bio's in a minute, and then, if you're lucky, you'll get an exerpt! One whole chapter! Oh! I forgot! The chapters are set up like, they don't say “Chapter 1: Jacob's Demise” or stuff like that. It's just, “1754” and then when that section's done, it goes to “1880” and then back to “1754” so that's really cool, I guess. Idk, lemme know how stupid it sounds, eh? Actually, I'm pretty pleased with myself, it's coming along much better than I thought, but I sit on my bed writing it and I'm like, “Wait, what was Alex doing? Where did Jacob go?” and stuff like that, so hush it

1. A ghost (Ghosts can't kill. They're little moving sheets of see-through dust)
2. A vampire (Didn't work out well, -Arachnid-, thanks for the idea though)
3. A Remnant Posessed (They have a normal human lifespan, because as long as their human host is alive, they're alive)
4. A Time Lord (*grimaces* Not the greatest of thoughts that my sleep-deprived brain has ever had)
5. A demon (He does get posessed by one, though… ooooooh, idea)
Alright, so ignoring all that up there, maybe, just maybe, when Jacob becomes posessed by a demon, maybe it re-writes his DNA, and, verily and forsooth, he ends up immortal, and is trying to die, and ditdaditdadit… well?

Jacob walked down a quiet street. It was dark, and he was alone. He stopped walking, and looked up at the moon. “Someday,” he whispered, almost to himself. “Someday, I will. Don’t worry.”
He continued down the street, only to be stopped by a little girl. She looked to be about ten, and was dressed in a nightgown and slippers. Her hair was loose around her shoulders, and her eyes were brown and frightened. “Sir,” she said, “can you help me?”
“What’s the matter?” Jacob asked, realizing the time had come.
“I-I can’t find my family,” she said, about to cry.
“Don’t worry,” he said, bending down. He could see her trembling, and, in one fluid motion, scooped her up in his arms. “I’ve got you.”

Ten Years Later, 1889
Sara sighed, watching the streets below. The cabbies honked and sputtered along, pedestrians dodging and ducking between each other and the cars, rain pattering the umbrellas, and the heads of those without. She sighed. Jacob was out, presumably running some errands. Only God knew when he’d be back.
The back door slammed. Sara jumped up, and raced downstairs, glad that Jacob was home. Automatically, she sensed something was wrong. Jacob never used the back door, that was only used by police to avoid a scene. She tried to keep the fear out of her voice as she called, “Jacob? Is that you? I thought you’d never-”
She cut short at the sight of Jacob, flanked by two policemen. They looked almost the same, except that one had a thin, blond mustache, and the other had a small scar on his cheek. Both were gripping Jacob’s arms, holding him upright. He was bruised and bloody, his hair matted. His clothes were dirty, and he looked tired. He struggled to gain breath, as if his lungs were punctured. “Sara,” he wheezed, “I have to tell you something.”
The policemen threw him on the ground, and he landed on his side, crying out from the impact. She ran to him, and kneeled by his side. “Jacob? Jacob, what’s happening?”
“Sara, I’m sorry. You need to wake up. Wake up, now!”
Sara blinked, and saw her room around her. It was very dark, and she had trouble seeing. She looked down, and saw her ten-year old body. “Jacob?” she called, her voice high and squeaky. A bright light appeared, causing her to cover her eyes. A man stepped out of the bright mass, and smiled. “Don’t worry,” he whispered. “I’ve got you.”
