I think that scratch should have an option to “recommend” a project to another user. Basically, a user would click something located next to the “embed” button, and you would choose another scratcher to recommend it to. That scratcher would then receive a message in their inbox saying “(scratcher) recommends (project) to you.”

This could help unnoticed projects get attention.

To prevent spam, there could be any or all of these restrictions;

-projects can only be recommended to your followers, and no one else
-there could be a limit of how many times you can recommend per day, and/or you have to wait a certain amount of times between each recommend
-you cannot recommend your own project

The problem I have with this is that it could be used to harass users, like recommending them projects that have nothing to do with their interests.

I think it'd be better if the Front Page had a section called “Recommended To You” and it shows the most recommended projects to you. That way, we don't get message spam. Another problem is alts recommending projects made by the original user.

Yeah, agreed.

I would love to have something like this. I think it would be nice to have people recommend new projects to try. However I think it should be the user's following, not followers as all a person needs to do is follow you to start spamming projects, if it's your following you have to follow the user for them to recommend projects to you. You could have a recommended to you row but what would be in it if no one has ever recommended a project to you? You also can already do the notification thing by linking the projects on the user's profile via a comment.

That's probably a better suggestion - but as we know, recommended lists don't always work. And just like bans, users could use ALT accounts to get around this (but I wouldn't)

I can see that being a problem, but you could fix that by having old recommends be worth less (e.g. something with 5 recommends all from a month ago is behind something with 2, but newly recommended).
Either way, this could be pretty useful!

I have an idea to make it better, the person who recommended the project would be notified when the person loves the project, so they know what to recommend next. But you could have a setting where someone doesn't get notified when you love their recommended project. I hope that makes

That's a good idea. Then the person knows to recommend more projects like that.
Also maybe if a recommended to section was made there should be a view all button that would show you every project that was recommended to you. It should come with the option to show newest recommendations first and most recommended to you first.
