Change "Draft" to "Work In Progress"

Sure, the name change would be a bit longer, but it would be a bit easier for other Scratchers to understand.

If you search “draft site:scratch.mit.edu/discuss” on Google, there are about 800 results and counting. This means that there are a few hundred (give or take a few) topics that ask what “draft” means.

Also, yes, you can figure out that “draft” means “work in progress” because it adds “work-in-progress” as a tag. But I feel that this minor text fix would clear up a lot of confusion, and plus, no one uses tags since they don't work in Explore.

Discuss your opinions on this, and I apologize if this is a duplicate. I searched it up and there was nothing so…
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also remember to be constructive when posting, and give a reason in your opinion, even if you support like this idea.
1. Many questions about many things in Scratch. Many users ask, “what is a remix”, “what is a studio”. “what is a sprite”, and etc. You can't expect them to stop asking these many questions. Also, it doesn't matter how many results one might receive, because there are thousands of New Scratchers asking more than thousands of questions.
2. This is false, for this reason:

Note that semantically the two phrases don't quite convey the same meaning; a work in progress is ongoing at the moment, whereas calling something a draft implies that it is in a fixed state.

“This is a draft of what the application will look like” means that this is a working model of the application, and we will develop the application afterwards based on it.

“This is a work in progress application” means that the application is currently being extended and is not static.

support. It could prevent some confusion, but some people may use draft instead. However i think it could work.

Change "Draft" to "Work In Progress"

1. Draft mostly refers to a stage before an official part of something. People have mostly learned that in school, such as essay drafts and essay final drafts.
True, but “work in progress” isn't confusing at all, as anyone knowing what draft means should know what work in progress would mean. (Perhaps not the abbreviation.)

Another thing is this suggestion shouldn't get too complicated. Both loosely mean projects that aren't complete, but are in the works/at a fixed state in being completed, of course with minor differences.

I'm neutral on this change now. I like “draft” but I also like “work in progress.”

“Draft” on Google gives “338,000,000” results, compared to “Work In Progress”, which gives “ 219,000,000” results, meaning Draft is a more used word and a more understandable word.

Well, here's the thing, draft has multiple meanings.

the fish taken at one drawing; a catch.

1.

“I drafted a letter of resignation”
2.

4.

I doubt anyone who is familiar with the word draft with have to go look at all of that or even someone who doesn't know about it.

Draft is not the same as Work In Progress. Period.

I mean that draft can be used in multiple contexts (unlike work in progress). Therefore, it would have more searches because you can use it in scenarios like “wind draft” or “football draft”. Which basically nullifies your statement.

Anyone wondering that Draft was in Scratch would definitely not think of football. -_-

Lol, but I mean that a lot of those google searches about draft would be about football drafts, fantasy football drafts, who was drafted in the 2017 NFL draft, etc.

EDIT: I looked at the 1st page of results for the word draft, and 9 out of 11 of those results were about the football draft.

Most of the topics are actually asking about what the button does. The ‘lots of confusion’ is nonexistent.
No support, there's simply no good reason to change it.

Earlier I said I went to neutral, now I'm not supporting it. It isn't quite worth rolling out in the form of an update.

I'd support a suggestion where a popup explains the meaning of “draft” once for younger audiences.

Reason for no support:
