Some parents may not want their child to have access to some functions of scratch (for example: commenting, using the forums, sharing projects, and loving/favoriting.) So if a parent wants their child to be able to use scratch, but not interact with the community except for viewing and remixing projects, they could enable it. Or if the parent doesn’t want their kid to use the forums, they could set it to block the forums (because of things like bullying.) It think it could be located in the account settings and be locked with a email or 4 digit passcode (like IOS.) I started this topic because lots of my friends wanted to join scratch but their parents didn’t want them to access some features relating to the community. When I first started using scratch (about 2 years ago) I wasn’t allowed to use the forums.
This feature may increase the size of the community and may make scratch better for kids 7 and up.
Btw please have a reason why you support/don’t support it.

Scratch is already child friendly were there is not much to block people from. if a parent does not what their child to use these features they should use the offline editor.

EXACTLY. If you want to block forums, loves, favorites, and commenting, the parents might as well just download scratch to their computer. In the actual post, you said that parents might not want their kids to also use commenting. Some parents may not want their kids to use things like the forums, but want them to be able to interact with the community in things like commenting.999% agree with you. I don't think the Scratch team should spend time on a feature because people could be lazy. Some parents may not want their kids to use things like the forums, but want them to be able to interact with the community in things like commenting.999% agree with you. They could work on the projects online and download the files.

My idea was that “What if a parent wanted to use scratch, but didn’t want their kid to use some functions like the forums, and sharing projects?” Scratch is already child friendly were there is not much to block people from. if a parent does not what their child to use these features they should use the offline editor.

It's Scratch. As long as you don't download it form a website that isn't Scratch.mit.edu, it shouldn't have a virus.
Also, how hard is it to download something?

No support. Scratch is a site for all ages. What is there to block?
(If any part of Scratch could be blocked under this feature (e.g. forums), why is the feature still available on the site if people think it's not appropriate for kids?)
(I think this is technically rejected as a modified version of a 13+ version of the site)

No support, I don't see why parents wouldn't want to give their child access to these things, as Scratch is a kid-friendly website. And if they don't want community, Scratch 2.0 Offline Editor. Also, why on earth would you not give your child permission to LOVE AND FAVORITE?
