I support this for reasons I already said.
I support this instead of what was said earlier, as it's really something we need. After all, it's really difficult for normal users to point out things we should change on the wiki without applying to get their own account. I don't think “Join the Wiki” is really needed; because there could be a sticky for that. The hidden Admin and EW forum is useful as well, I bet.

Agreed. However I think users may want to know how to join, what form to fill out, etc.?

This. As I said before, there's really no need for a private forum for regular wiki users, but this could allow private forums for EWs/Admins without them having to use external programs.

I'd say that would be fine and the regular wikians can use the CP

Yes. Plus it'd add a forum for regular users to ask questions about the wiki

Do you mean regular wikians or non-wikians?

Any old user, like non-wikians, to talk about the wiki as there is currently no place to do so (?).

1. Consider technical restrictions - is it worth it to set up a cross-site system to make sure users are in the Wiki?
2. There have been plenty of bureaucrat messages disliking the exclusivity of the wiki - it’s already bad enough that only wikians can edit, how do you think people would feel if we showed this sub forum to their face and told them they can’t post in it?
3. The only reason the moderator forums are private is because some of the content there is potentially sensitive/libelous - not so with the wiki - I disagree with making the wiki forums private to view.

In general, I don’t really like this idea, sorry.

also can someone teach me how to use BBcode numbered lists thanks

I don't think there is a place to talk about the wiki – at least no obvious one in my eyes, except if the topic fits a different subject like Questions About Scratch.

I think there was a general compromise on this idea:

I saw that compromise - I’m saying restricting posting to wiki editors is technically challenging (kinda) and worse than not being able to edit.

Yeah, that's not the best idea; but we've sort of taken the suggestion at this point and decided it'd be better to make a public forum about the wiki, and the only private forum is for EW + as some don't use Discord or Skype or whatever external program is the one everyone's using for that.

It could possibly help answer questions about the wiki.

One more issue with this - you can’t directly demonstrate wiki formatting if needed. On the forums, we use BBcode. On the Wiki, we use MediaWiki markup. You can’t demonstrate one with the other, and there are things wiki markup can do that BBcode never dreamed of. For this last reason:

No support.
