I completely agree with you! ST treats FNAF projects like a child will have a heart attack just from seeing a jumpscare! I've seen that all FNAF projects are NFE, even if they're cute, appropriate, and innocent. That's like banning Sonic the Hedgehog become of its fandom. Can't Scratch Team allow some FE FNAF projects to be FE? I don't expect some child to have a heart attack from seeing FNAF.
Also, some search terms, such as “Slenderman” and “FNAF”, of course, only display nothing, even if there are some FE projects about them. Please fix that.

It is possible to have a heart attack from being scared, just so you know (it is pretty rare, however, and usually only happens with long-term fear), or it might feel like one for a second. I completely agree with you! ST treats FNAF projects like a child will have a heart attack just from seeing a jumpscare!
But the real reason was because many kids were having nightmares and Scratch was blocked on multiple districts. However, if there are projects about FNAF that are actually marked FE and have no inappropriate content in them, I don't see why they can't show up on search.

Yeah, there isn't really a reason to hide all FNAF projects! But it may be hard for the ST to go through every FNAF project and mark them NFE OR FE.Nope, the community is still strong on Scratch, it seems. The question of “where is fnaf” has been posted on QaS so often… FNAF Is STILL a thing? ugh…
I guess I support, aslong as it isnt too scary then it shouldnt be NFE, and also hasn't everyone grown out of that by now?
I'm getting tired of the game fast.
Support; although not just for FNAF (that would be disappointing). Instead, it could also remove the restrictions on “fps” as well.
So, Semi-Support!

We need family friendly Eric
FNaF is STILL a thing people on scratch fanboy/fangirl over? TBH I never knew FNaF was a thing on Scratch in the first place until I saw the row it was creating in the forums. As for this question at heart – well, you tell me, will little kids have trouble sleeping at night if they unsuspectingly find the origin story of something portrayed in a "family-friendly" way? Probably yes.

We need family friendly EricThen let's ban all horror-related media off Scratch because little kids might be curious, search it up, and then get nightmares!

Well, has anyone bothered to report it? If no one reports it, it's more like you guys are letting the problem slide, hmm?
Really, anything related to horror is supposed to be at least NFE'd. I personally am not into horror and I'm starting high school.

We need family friendly EricThat's not the suggestion at all. The suggestion is to have FNaF projects that are confirmed to be family-friendly by the Scratch Team show up on search results. Will a dress-up game of FNaF give kids nightmares? No. So let it show up because that person worked hard on the project!

Support. However, any filtered out keyword can still be searched by typing “site:scratch.mit.edu/projects *search term here*” into your browser.

I don't know much about this, but if all projects with FNAF in the tile are instantly marked NFE, then support, because there are projects that may be a not scary parody or something else that doesn't contain jumpscares.

No support- scratch is a children's website and not a place for horror content, regardless of how “kid-friendly” the content is. If anything, I think we're quite ‘lucky’ that the scratch team allows them to remain on the site as NFE projects.
Children are curious in nature and will look up anything that piques their interest- even if they've been told or can tell it's likely to disturb them. Expecting children to moderate their own content is ineffective and as a children's website it's scratch's duty to keep it's users safe and help them with that by keeping certain content off the site. Then let's ban all horror-related media off Scratch because little kids might be curious, search it up, and then get nightmares!
Blame them, not Scratch.

Why is this still a relevant issue in 2018 Scratch?
Because of people like you who think mild gore/dark content is okay, Scratch got blocked by several educational institutions and gave little kids nightmares. This causes Scratch to lose possible business, and directly violates their guidelines.
Not every FNaF project is marked NFE, mind you, just the ones that are bad enough to be marked NFE. Which is like, 90% of them, because nobody reads the community guidelines anymore I guess.
Reading the outright assumptions in this thread is now making me equally disappointed over an issue that should've ended 2 years ago. It's not going to be lifted, stop arguing about it.

Thanks for your suggestion. However, I believe we are satisfied with our current arrangement. There are still enough projects out there that would be disruptive to a classroom or to a sensitive Scratcher that we feel we need to make them more difficult to find.
