The shop has been officially reopened, again. Yay!

Please read these rules and fill out the application. Our HR department will get back to you within 72 hours of your application.

Requirements: (required for applying at BGMead's Shop)

1. You must be a Scratcher.
   
2. You must have more than 25 posts.
   
3. You must have more than 3 projects.
   
4. You must have been on Scratch for at least 3 months.
   
5. You have worked in at least one shop in the past.
   
6. You currently not working in anymore than four other shops.
   
7. You must include a project or studio based portfolio with at least two examples for each of your skills.
   
8. You have not had an application denied within the last two weeks.
   

Recommended: (recommended, but not required for applicants)

1. You have more than 100 posts.
   
2. You have been on Scratch for at least 1 year.
   
3. You've worked in at least two shops in the past, and taken and completed at least ten orders.
   
4. You currently not working in anymore than three other shops.
   
5. Your portfolio has 4-6 examples for each skill.
   

Exceptions will be made for Scratchers who recently moved accounts, as long as the old account meets these qualifications. In terms of rules 2-4 for those who recently moved accounts, you previous projects/posts/time on Scratch will be combined with that of your current account. By applying, you agree to these terms/rules, as well as the staff rules (see below).

If we like your main application, we will take you to stage two, where you will be asked to complete an example order for your main skill(s). If we do not like your final result, we may deny your application or ask you to complete another example order. If we think what you have created is acceptable, you will be progressed to stage three.

During stage three, we ask that you complete an interview with us in the interview studio. You will be asked multiple questions relating to your time on Scratch and your experience in the fields you noted to have skills in. Your application will be reviewed by our application team, who will decide 24-48 hours after the interview if you are accepted.

Upon acceptance, you will be given a green (active) color code and placed in the Trainees section of the staff page. We ask that Trainees do not take more than three orders at a time, do not take large orders, and complete at least 2 orders in 30 days. If you meet these requirements, after 10 days of acceptance you will be moved to the Members category and have no more limits or requirements to meet.

Inactivity Policy
If an employee hasn't posted in the topic in five days and isn't on excused absence, they go down to semi-active rank on the staff post. If an employee hasn't posted in seven days, they're given the not active rank on the staff post. If an employee hasn't completed an order in two weeks, and the shop has received orders in those two weeks, then employees are bumped down a rank. If an employee makes three posts and is in the semi active category, they can be promoted to the active category. Employees will have to make five posts to be promoted from not active to active.

Firing Policy for ‘Trainees’
If an employee with the ‘Trainee’ role on the staff page has had the not active rank for more than forty-eight hours, any employee in the HR may fire them. Any employee who breaks any of these rules can be fired by an HR member without a warning (as long as appropriate steps, such as voting or getting another HR member to agree) - however, if the HR member feels it's not too severe, other disciplinary actions will be taken, such as:

• Leaving a warning for the employee
  
• Bump them down an activity rank
  
• Demote them to a lower employee category.
  

Firing Policy for ‘Members’, Department Heads, and Shop Leaders (Head Members)
If an employee with the ‘Member’, Department Head, or Shop Leader role on the staff page has had the not active rank for more than seventy-two hours, any employee in the HR department may request to fire them. For Members, at least one other HR member must agree to this before the employee is fired. Department Heads may only be fired by HR department leaders or Shop Leaders. A vote will be held between all other Shop Leaders if it's requested that a Shop Leader is fired. Any employee who breaks any of these rules can be fired by an HR member without a warning (as long as appropriate steps, such as voting or getting another head member to agree) - however, if the head member feels it's not too severe, other disciplinary actions will be taken, such as:

• Leaving a warning for the employee
  
• Bump them down an activity rank
  
• Demote them to a lower employee category.
  

All disciplinary actions, warnings, and employment updates are saved to your permanent record within our shop. Your file is private and will only be viewed by a Shop Leader or HR member when it needs to be updated or reviewed. If you would like to view your record, please ask a HR member. As per GDPR, if you would like your record deleted you may request to do so, however, this will prevent you from applying to BGMead's shop again in the future.

Reversing Actions
Staff members are listed on the staff page by power (besides Trainees and Members - they do not hold any power). Any staff member (besides Trainees and Members) will have more power than staff listed below their username. An employee can reverse actions taken by those below them in power (such as firing). The only exception is during the firing of a Shop Leader. This does not apply to the Marketing and HR departments.

Forcing orders to be redone
Any staff member in greater power (see above) than another staff member may require an order to be redone. (not applicable to HR or Marketing dept.) The staff member must redo the order, no questions asked. There are no exceptions to this rule. Customers may ask for an order to be redone as many times as needed.

Staff Rules
If you are a staff member, you MUST follow these rules, or risk being fired.
- ALWAYS follow the Scratch Community Guidelines
- Complete orders before the deadline. If you miss it, that's ok, but make it a priority to complete the order.
- Be kind and polite to the customer. Format responses so they are readable. Use proper grammar!
- Don't be angry if you receive a bad review. Use the review as a learning experience for next time.
- Have fun
Post in the thread every once in a while. If you're going to be offline for a while, let us know and we'll provide an excused absence. The maximum amount of time for an excused absence is one month (30 days) - if you're leaving for longer than that, please retire and reapply when you come back. Not being active without an excused absence for over one week is considered extremely inactive, and will most likely be fired. Staff who have taken an order but have not completed it cannot order at this shop until the order is completed. To prove that you read this, add the word strawberry to your application. Each of the permissions of staff members are over at the staff page.
