(in no particular order)

Night Visions // Imagine Dragon

I never got into indie rock until I accidentally stumbled upon Radioactive on Pandora. My first impression was that they made dubstep (a lousy judgement), but as I listened to It's Time and I'm On Top of the World, I gained a strange and enrapturing affinity for indie rock. From that moment on, I have never beheld a greater band than them.

Clarity // Zedd

If I had to choose between the hardcore dubstep of Skrillex and the contemporary and eloquent electronic of Zedd, this would always come first. Never has electronic music been so uplifting as Clarity IMO, not to mention the collab with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic is also one of my faves.

Random Access Memories // Daft Punk

When I get sick of all other music, this always brings back my spirits. Get Lucky is simply too great a song to forget, and I never get bored of it no matter how many times the radio replays it. I also really love the soothing vocals of The Game of Love and Doing It Right.

X & Y // Coldplay

TBH, I really can't decide on just one album from Coldplay, so I'll just make an example of one for now. X & Y has some of my favorite Coldplay songs, always nostalgic, always appealing, and always getaway from depression. The songs are purely magical, especially Talk and Square One. I highly recommend this album to anyone suffering depression.

Native // OneRepublic

I only like this album slightly more than Waking Up. Even though I get a little tired of hearing Counting Stars, I cannot describe my love of their non-mainstream songs, such as Preacher, I Lived, and Au Revoir.

i hate to be pedantic (no, actually i love it) but imagine dragons would not be classified as “indie rock” and rather would be “alternative rock”.

Clarity was kinda meh, I was expecting songs more like Dovregubben (all time favourite electro song) or Slam the Door. Oh well…

5. “Defiant Order” // Birdy Nam Nam

Birdy Nam Nam are a group of underground turntablists and breaks producers who recently re-released their latest album on OWSLA. It's haunting, chilling and funky at the same time. Sure, none of the tracks have an epic atmosphere like The Parachute Ending, but they're all good nonetheless. And unlike previous albums, it feels alot more structured and full.

4. “TOTAL” // SebastiAn

Aside from the controversial cover art, this album is full of funky bass riffs and heavy synths. This is less like a Justice copycat and more like an album of it's own. SebastiAn manages to extend his complex sound to a whole album that may be short, but is one heck of a journey. Uhhh, skip CTFO though - it's the only bad song.

3. “Back Story” // Wolfgang Gartner

In Wolfgang's second album, he decides to his softer, electro house roots. This was a success, and Back Story was born. It's full of catchy, funky tunes that would brighten any party up. It also doesn't feel like a mirage of singles glued together, each track mixes into another in near-perfect harmony.

2. “Homework” // Daft Punk

Regardless of anything, I was always going to put a Daft Punk album on this list. It will always be Homework, which in my opinion, is far better than Discovery or Random Access Memories. Alive 2007 would've come at a close second. It's full of cheerful, groovy tunes that showed us the true potential of the anonymous duo. Plus, Soulwax's remake of Teachers is also a notable listen.

1. “Analog Worms Attack” // Mr Oizo

Mr Oizo's miraculous blend of hip-hop and french house is the reason why this album is so memorable. Also, it's probably something to do with the fact that the French have appeared on this list 4 times. Each track may be minimal, but they're all unique and bass heavy. Thy all also have catchy melodies and are full of depth and percussion. A must if you're a Mr Oizo fan like me.

Your 10 favorite albums of all time

1.Sufjan Stevens, Illinoise
After much debate other whether or not this was lesser or superior to Age of Adz, I've decided that this is the superior Sufjan album and my favorite album. This album is a highly ambitious effort, both in terms of songwriting and lyrics. Sufjan uses more grandiose and complex arrangements than in Michigan, turning his quiet folk songs into grand epics. An interesting thing to note is that Sufjan plays all of the instruments on the album. Most of the songs are about the state of Illinois, ranging to historical events such as the Chicago World's Fair and more personal stories such as the death of a friend of cancer on Casimir Pulsaki Day. Loads of feels here if you like that kind of thing. There's lots of dedication to the subject, with lots of obscure geographical references thrown in. I think this album is accessible and diverse enough to recommend to pretty much anyone, so go listen to it!
Standout tracks: Come On! Feel The Illinoise, John Wayne Gacy Jr, Chicago, Casimir Pulsaki Day, The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts, The Predatory Wasp of The Palisades Is Out To Get Us, The Tallest Man, The Broadest Shoulders

2. The Avalanches, Since I Left You
This album is one of the greatest achievements in all of music, an album made entirely out of taking other songs and making something new. Over 3000 songs are sampled in here, creating an incredibly versatile mix of genres. All of the songs fade into eachother, making the album feel like an hour long song. A celebration of music.
Standout tracks: Since I Left You, Radio, Two Hearts in 3/4 Time, Close To You, Frontier Psychiatrist, Live At Dominoes, Extra Kings

3. Talking Heads, Remain In Light
The best Talking Heads album and their most ambitious and experimental. The first half contains some of the best songs ever written. The second half is much darker and Joy Division inspired, with excellent results. Born Under Punches is one of the best openers to any album ever, and it isn't even the best song on the album.
Standout tracks: Born Under Punches, Crosseyed And Painless, The Great Curve, Once In A Lifetime, Houses In Motion, Listening Wind

4. Ween, The Mollusk
While this album isn't perfect, it holds a very special place in my heart, as it is connected to my love of Spongebob. A very versatile album, both musically and in subject matter. Every song sounds different, yet it's still a very coherent album. I like how the album opens on a cover of a childrens song.
Standout tracks: I'm Dancing In The Show Tonight, The Mollusk, Mutilated Lips, The Blarney Stone, The Golden Eel, Cold Blows The Wind, Buckingham Green, Ocean Man, She Wanted To Leave

5. The Avalanches, Wildflower
I know that I can't have 2 albums by the same artist in my top 5, but this is my list. After the 16 years of waiting, The Avalanches have released a worthy follow-up that manages to keep their classic sound while still being new and original. The main reason why this album is so high up despite having come out in June is mainly due to personal reasons, which I'm going to write in a video about my favorite albums of the year. To sum up what I'm going to be saying in that video, this album literally re-ignited my faith in humanity. The only reason why this isn't number one is because it is a fairly flawed album and it's a bit too recent to declare it my number one album.
Standout tracks: Because I'm Me, Subways, If I Was A Folkstar, Colours, Harmony, Livin Underwater (Is Something Wild), The Wozard of Iz, Kaliedoscopic Lovers, Saturday Night Inside Out

6. The Flaming Lips, The Soft Bulletin
I'll write a description later
Standout tracks: Race For The Prize, A Spoonful Weighs A Ton, The Spark That Bled, What Is The Light/The Observer, The Gash, Feeling Yourself Disintegrate

7. Neutral Milk Hotel, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
Standout tracks: The King of Carrot Flowers, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, Two Headed Boy, Holland 1945, Oh Comely, Ghost, Two Headed Boy Part Two

8. Sufjan Stevens, The Age of Adz
Standout tracks: Too Much, Age of Adz, Now That I'm Older, Get Real, Get Right, Vesuvius, I Want To Be Well, Impossible Soul

9. Lemon Demon, Spirit Phone
Standout tracks: Lifetime Achievement Award, Touch-Tone-Telephone, Cabinet Man, No Eyed Girl, When He Died, Sweet Bod, Eighth Wonder, I Earn My Life, Man Made Object, Spiral of Ants

10. The Beach Boys, Pet Sounds
Standout tracks: Wouldn't It Be Nice, You Still Believe In Me, Don't Talk, God Only Knows, I Know There's An Answer, I Just Wasn't Made For These Times, Caroline No

I've updated my post to introduce better formatting (the idea of spacing courtesy of @flyingpiearchive, hope you don't mind me stealing some formatting of yours for myself as well, chap), very quick and light-hearted album summaries that might be replaced with more objective thoughts later on and seven favourite songs on display instead of just five as well as links to some of them where appropriate or satisfactory. All of this was just done for personal satisfaction.
Might force up my list to fifteen or twenty albums, though it'll cause redundancies in artists (which I'll try to even out with my nostalgic late 2000's albums and recent listens).

BUMP
Couple of quick albums I might add to my master post later:
View-Monster (2008) - Lemon Demon - Alternative/Electronic - Mild NSFS
Probably has the most creative edge out of all the 2000's Lemon Demon albums. Like the other albums, with more synth.
1. The Machine
2. Ask For Nothing
3. The Ocean
4. The Satirist's Love Song
5. Marketland
6. Being a Rock Star
7. Kaleidoskull
Bonus Tracks:
1. Sundial
2. Super Hey Ya (OutKast Remix)
3. Modify
4. Treasure Map
5. Ben Bernanke
6. Everyday French
7. Drinky-Bird

Rize of the Fenix (2012) - Tenacious D - Rock/Comedy - Heavy NSFS
This album is often considered the D's weakest, but I find it nearly compares to the first one and I honestly liked it better than POD. Subject matter is pretty varied, with a few “epic-length” tracks like Deth Starr and 39.
1. Senorita
2. Rize of the Fenix
3. Throw Down
4. The Ballad of Hollywood Jack & The Rage Kage
5. Roadie
6. Rock is Dead
7. Low Hangin' Fruit

I'm also testing out albums both old and new on my scope to see what makes it:
Life in Cartoon Motion (2007) - MIKA - Pop - Mild NSFS (nostalgic)
Interesting lyrics, composition and vocals all around. Rather “pop”-y, with a few unique or classic tweaks on each song.
1. Ring Ring (bonus track)
2. Happy Ending
3. Relax, Take It Easy
4. Any Other World
5. Billy Brown
6. Grace Kelly
7. My Interpretation

Play (1999) - Moby - Electronic - Mild NSFS (recent)
The effect Moby's music has on me is near indescribable, but this album is pretty powerful in tone and subjectively beautiful. Urban beats and sophisticated samples get thrown into a blender with slightly varying but never disappointing results (though this only describes about half to two-thirds of the album as the rest is taken up by wonderful instrumental tracks).
1. Porcelain
2. Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?
3. Inside
4. Honey
5. Rushing
6. Bodyrock
7. Run On
