Another idea! Maybe when you click create it says nearby the workspace:
Need help? Ask on the forums here
and it would save the project because otherwise that would be annoying

That could work
When you try to drag an image into editor and it leaves the page without asking and, obviously, it doesn't save…

i think the nav bar needs to only be
|scratch|create|explore|forums| for scratchers,
|scratch|create|explore|tips|forums| for new scratchers,
|scratch|explore|about| for people logged out

They can get it from inside a project, or from the footer.

Without their help one of two things would have happened:
A) I quit Scratch in fear of this happening to another script in another one of my projects
B)Give up on that project that I have spent months on so far
C)After a couple of days of fixing that script build in fear of it happening again
However thanks to the answer I got I worked without fear one of the area switching scripts would break again. And now that project is my best work so far! I'm honestly not sure what I would have done without someone's advice on what to do.
Now, this is more credible as an example which actually happened, not some fictional example from a non-existent Scratcher (Well, at least they didn't exist until 4 hours ago from the time of this post).
[offtopic]you put one of 2 things then wrote out 3 outcomes[/offtopic]
XD well I originally thought of two, then I though of a third thing.

That is a good idea. I remember Paddle2see saying somewhere that they were looking to put links to forums in places that would make more sense in context. What about if there is a link when you create a project that says "Need an idea? Ask here“ When you share the project ”Want more people to see your project? Make a post here“ And somewhere in the project editor, somewhere where it would not be distracting, such as the how to in the tips section have it say ”Need help with a script? Ask here"

but people with the scratcher status won't need to go to that tips page, bbecause they often have more experience than new scratchers.

How about this:

Place a link to the Discussion Forum on the Tips page? (To the entirety of the Forums, not just Help With Scripts?)
And make it nice and big, preferably at the top of the page rather than the bottom, so that Scratchers can find it easily.

Or split the screen into two columns: one with the current “Things to Try” panels, and one with panels linked to the Discussion Forums and Wiki pages. You can make the 'Things to Try" column larger if you really want it to draw all the attention, but please, give the Discuss and Wiki pages some much-needed love too.

Please, support this idea.

Why not just add it back? Deleting Explore is more reasonable, because, seriously? Why do you need an Explore & a search bar? That's weird. Quote this idea & say support or no support

True. I forgot about that.

Maybe its disappearance in the navbar should be mentioned in the Scratcher slideshow, though…

I do suppose they should have removed Explore instead, but they removed it originally because it doesn't fit in all the other languages.

Support. What's the point of the forums if there isn't any way to get to them? How will new users know they exist?

I've used the forums since 2014, at least. We'll probably never get new members on the forums now that that is off.

Guys, why the heck does YouTube even have a tab dedicated to trending stuff when half of it is something we don't even care about? Some people care about that, which is enough to keep it.
Same logic applies to the Explore tab. Some people do use it, and the fact that many other Scratchers that look for inspiration comes from explore is the reason why the Scratch Team won't remove it.

I have a feeling that people are relying too much on the forums for support. The best way to learn is to explore the content, rather than just giving the answers to things. Exploring enhances problem solving; problem solving to reasoning and skill; finally reasoning and skill to putting together projects and becoming a better programmer.

Curious, has ST said anything relating to the backlash?
