The ability to unfollow closed topics.

You likely all know that you can follow topics and receive messages when somebody posts on them. You are able to see a list of them here. But when there, you will likely see a closed topic or two there. There's no point in following a closed topic, but if you go to the page to try to unfollow it, you will see that the button isn't there.

The suggestion here is the ability to be able to remove this from your list, possibly from the page, or possibly in the topic itself.

This is admittedly a minor issue, but it can clutter up your subscribed pages.

I used to be active on the forums, but I have mostly moved past Scratch. I still do check my Scratch messages, so if you'd like to talk to me, just leave a comment on my profile. My main project on Scratch was Cookie Clicker, but my newest project is Snake Snake, a game based off of Snake, but with two snakes, and you can play either singleplayer or multiplayer.

I play video games and sometimes do other things. I don't really make anything on Scratch anymore, but I'm relatively active on the Undertale and Deltarune forums.

Also it clutters up your subscriptions.

Well, yeah.. I guess that makes sense. But I always thought that when a topic is closed, it's already unfollowed.

I've run out of statements to put here as a bump.

No Support. Nothing will actually be affected if you close the topic, you won't receive any notifications if nobody can post to the topic. I don't see how that could be a bad thing.

If you actually use the “show subscriptions” option from search, which allows you to see all topics you're following (usually used for finding important topics or topics you created), you'll see how following closed topics could really clutter it up a lot quicker.

But chances are, there are most open topics users have subscribed to than closed topics, and I don't need to prove that.

Really?

Most of those topics were ones I made two years ago when I first went on the forums, and I was making unconstructive topics, but I cannot get rid of them. Besides, there is absolutely no disadvantage to being able to do this.

Uh, if you use the Questions about Scratch forums a lot, a lot of topics go closed within weeks or months, and if you follow a lot of them, they just go into your subscriptions list, get closed, and remain in there.

For many active forum users, this is just simply unsatisfying.

That's because they are UNCONSTRUCTIVE.

Not all users use Q&A, and Q&A isn't the most popular forum. It's Show and Tell. And most of the posts there aren't closed. Pointless.

So because when I first joined the website two years ago before I even knew what a forum was and I made topics that were closed, I should have to have those there forever? And also, there is no disadvantage. Plus, that isn't the case for all of them.

I used to be active on the forums, but I have mostly moved past Scratch. I still do check my Scratch messages, so if you'd like to talk to me, just leave a comment on my profile. I didn't say anything about popularity relating to the Q&A forums.

This suggestion is logical, does not interfere much, and should be easy to implement, so there is no real reason why this shouldn't be added.

EDIT: Fixed grammar.
