Smooth animation.

Hey guys! I need some help with animating please. I want to know how to get smooth animating, when a sprite glides or a backdrop changes. Any advice?

Hey sis!!! and you just need to take your time. Like if you rushed that would make it less special. It usually takes a month or so to make a good animation.
It is worth it!

Hey there, I'm purr101 and I'm here to help!

What specifically are you trying to do? You can use equations to make a sprite travel in a curved line, if that's what you mean.
This is the basic framework:

define travel along function "f of x" for (length) pixels
set y to (f of (x position)::custom)
repeat ((length) - (1))
change x by (1)
set y to (f of (x position)::custom)
end

If you are talking about the jerkiness of an animation, it depends on how many frames you use to depict a motion. A 4 frame walk cycle looks more jerky than an 8 frame walk cycle.
