Use Audacity, or an online converter. Search around.

Scratch does not support large .mp3 files only small ones

you can upload any size .wav file though

use media.io to convert your .mp3s into .wavs

That's the same problem I'm having. Also I am working on a project too and I think the people who created scratch should fix it.
