Yeah this was just the previous one I wrote from a different PoV. It's not written as well, though.
(Actually, this one is trash compared to the other one I wrote.)

I'm gonna be working on a Fallout 4 fanfiction soon, (the game is amazing although I sadly suck at it) I'll link the project with the characters in ^.^

wOW these are so great, but can I add another story I've been working on? It's unfinished so far, but I hope it'll do it's called ‘Cursed Royalties’
Ch. 1: A Mother’s Scream
I was running. Running as fast as I could. Running away from her. Running to my family, even if I didn't know where they were… I didn't care anymore, as long as they were safe from ‘Lady Sonia’. Ever since Sonia attacked, me and my sister split up, my sister with the rest of my family..
There was smoke everywhere since everything was on fire, so my lungs would've been hungry for air without me running madly in the first place. I wished so hard for my family to be safe. If they were going to die, if I was going to die, I want to at least be able to say goodbye…
No. I didn't want to think about that. They aren't going to die. I've looked everywhere though… Suddenly, I heard laughter- no, cackling followed by a scream. I looked around to see the source of the scream, and there she was. Lady Sonia, the famous, dark witch with magic greater than anyone else's. She was right there, in front of me, a few meters away, with my family.
“Fiona! Mother! Father!” I screamed as loud as I could, just to make sure they could hear me. My father didn't even say ‘That’s king to you.' to me, I couldn't imagine caring any less.
“Oliver!” it was my mother who called my name. But when I realised that Sonia has the perfect chance to curse me and my family, or even kill us, my heart nearly jumped out of my chest. My heart was beating louder and faster than ever before, and although I was extremely anxious, I had come to the conclusion that I had to fight her. To death. My family needed to be safe. I jumped in position, ready to fight, then I summoned my staff.
“NO!”
“OLLY!”
“SON!”
Mother screams.
Sister sobs.
Father cries in shock.
And me? I saw a big rock-ish thing hit me.
Everything went black.
While all happened at once, Sonia smiled. As a genuine grin crept atop her face she whispered, no one else heard but her.
“Only the best for my son.”
Ch. 2: Cher’s Defeat
After Sonia’s attack on the kingdom of Cher, almost everything had been turned into ash, and only a few families remained. But the most important thing was that Cher no longer had a king, a queen, or anyone with royal blood in them, making the kingdom of Cher, kingless. The remainders of Sonia’s attack vigorously tried to find new royalty, but there was no success in finding a new heir to their throne. So instead of forcing royalty to a random person, Cher decided to stay loyal to the royal family, and turned into a village…
* * *
I woke up. My eyes shot open and stared at the ceiling thinking about what just happened. What a weird dream. Wait, I don’t remember falling asleep in the first place… I sat up swiftly, trying to take a quick look at my surroundings. As I sat up, I look to my left and notice wooden boards for the floor. I look up.
“ARGH!” Sonia was right in front of me. My eyes widened in shock, my heart pounding in my throat. I had slightly calmed down after a few seconds. But I had so many questions, currently unanswered.
Ch. 3: Cyris
Where was my family?
Is everyone still alive?
Why am I here?
What did Sonia do?
And why did she do it?
It just, pained me to not have all the answers to my questions… I guess I’m just so used to getting everything I want…
Sonia seemed so used to the reaction I gave her, she even smiled. It was actually a sweet smile. She seemed much nicer while smiling.
“You have questions you need to be answered, don’t you?” her voice was surprisingly soothing. I nodded so violently it made me slightly dizzy.
“Fire away.” she was being so nice… maybe because she wasn’t shouting incantations at everyone anymore, but still…
“WHERE’S MY FAMILY?” My voice was louder than I meant for it to be, oops.
“No need to shout, I know I’m getting old, but I can still hear you. Anyways,” again, she’s being nice, why is she being so nice to me? Is this some sort of trap? “It depends on what you mean by family.” It seems I’ve hit a nerve.
“I mean my mother my father, and my sister. Y’know, my real family” Her smile quickly vanished as I said this.
“Which mother?” why was she asking me this question?
“What?” I have two mothers?
“The woman I believe you are talking about, isn’t your real mother.”
“What?” I repeated myself, not knowing what else to say. How many mothers might I have?
“Anyways, the family you are talking about is waiting for you, I will explain once you get there.” I simply nodded, still trying to process what just happened. I’ve only asked one question, but now I have more questions than I did before I asked.
We got out of the building we were in, then we were just walking for a few minutes until I saw a tower come into view. It looked beautiful, I could see vines trying to climb to the top of the tower but instead grew flowers as they reached their limit. As we got closer, I noticed a garden surrounding the entire tower that grew all types of flowers. I noticed some orchids and some stargazers. The only part of the tower that didn’t have much decoration was the front, only bearing a wooden door.
“Come on, inside here.” Sonia led me into the door. The inside of the tower wasn’t as beautiful as it was on the outside, but it was still pretty. The wooden floorboards had intricate designs in them and there were two hallways I could enter, but if I walked straight, there was a door I could open. Sonia led me to the door.
“This is the stairway.” She opened the door and revealed a set of stairs. “Come, all we need to do is go up the stairs, not so hard, hmm?” She smiled again, this time it made me smile back, but I quickly dropped the smile realising what I had done. The stairs, instead of being wood, were made of stone, I could tell since every step I took, there was a clacking noise. Me and Sonia climbed the stairs with only a clacking noise to be heard for a few seconds, so I decided to ask a question.
“About my so-called ‘real family’, do you know where they are?” With this, she abruptly stopped climbing stairs, then continued.
“Of course I know where they are. I, of all people should know.” She sounded slightly agitated.
“Why should you know? How do you even know this much about me?” She showed me into a large circular room, the floor covered in carpet. She sat me down on a couch around the side of the room.
She took a deep breath. “I will explain, I promise. I just have something I need to be doing right now.” She got up and looked out the window. Actually, there were several windows surrounding the interior of the tower, she was just looking out the largest window. She started to mutter something that I didn’t really understand. Wait, is she muttering some kind of spell? Oh no-
“WAIT, DON’T DO IT!” I shouted at her. It didn’t seem to make a difference. “DON’T DO IT!” I was getting so frustrated, my knuckles turned white. I knew what she was going to do. I knew she was going to curse something, someone. I loosened my knuckles, but I clenched my teeth. I summoned my staff and tried to hit her with a spell, missing.
She continued to mutter. I sort of recognized the muttering, it sounded like a spell my father used to put on Cher… What was the name of the spell again… I need to remember… think, think, think, think, think… Wait, It was a…
“Binding spell!” Sonia turned to me, she was still muttering, but I could tell she was slightly surprised I knew what spell that was. Her staff was summoned, it looked like a scythe, scythe staffs are rarer nowadays. I shot a spell at her staff, I knew the staff was the thing that was going to activate the spell. She moved her staff out of the way in time and kept muttering, this spell was much longer than the one father did.
I did know that the spell binds something, or someone, in a specific area, but I only decided to do something about it now (don’t worry I scold myself later). I tried to run down the stairs to get as far away from the tower, that way I wouldn’t be bound to the tower.
Sonia’s muttering got louder, I could hear her though I was far down the stairs from the circle room. I jumped the last three steps, pushed the door, then the other, then sprinted. I was never a fast runner but I tried anyways. I could see Sonia from the window she was looking outside of. She got ahold of her staff.
“NO!” I screamed, although that did absolutely nothing. I quietly scolded myself. I once again, summoned my staff and threw a spell headed towards Sonia. It seemed she didn’t expect this spell, so it hit her staff. “Yes!” I whispered to myself. I sprinted, again, I didn’t really know where I would go after this, but away from Sonia was probably better. No company is better than bad company. I noticed Sonia’s muttering getter louder, I looked back to check on Sonia, bad idea. She was holding her staff, and before I could do anything, she raised her staff and finished her spell.
For a moment, I was ecstatic, believing I escaped her binding spell, so I ran, nowhere, but somewhere, if that makes sense. But I bumped into- nothing. It looked like nothing, but something was definitely there. I facepalmed- well, more like slapped myself, multiple times. I sighed in disappointment, of myself, and realised I had literally nowhere else to go, but back to the tower. I stomped my way over to the tower, up the stairs, and into the circle room.
“Son? Are you alright?” I can’t believe Sonia is asking this question because;
#1 I was definitely not okay.
And #2 I’m not her son.
“I’m not your son.” was the only thing I said, and quite coldly too.
“Son-”
“I’m not your son. Just because you’ve known me for 2 hours and I’m younger than you, doesn’t make me your son.” I said a little more aggressively.
“Fine. Olly-”
“Only my friends call me that,.”
“But, I’m-”
“And you are definitely not my friend.”
“Then what should I call you?” I was surprised at her patience, usually she would’ve cracked by now and be shooting spells everywhere.
“I don’t know, but just not ‘Son’ or ‘Olly’.”
“Alright then, Lyall.” What?
“Lyall? Where did you get that from?” As I asked this, she smiled, it was a little sadder this time.
“It was-” she stopped. I raised my eyebrows.
“Please explain?” Great. Now I have more questions.
“It’s a long story you aren’t interested in.” How would she know if I’m not interested? I am quite interested.
“I’m interested!”
“Lyall… ”
“Please?” She remained quiet. “Sonia?” She responded this time.
She sat back down on the couch
“It was a long time ago, you weren’t born yet, back then, I was considered an admirable, Ace Witch. You know what an Ace is, right?” I couldn’t believe she thought I didn’t know, I’m not that stupid!
“Of course! An Ace was basically a good witch, the opposite of a Dark one, meaning a bad witch.”
“That’s right, anyways, one day, I was walking around just to exercise a bit and that’s when I met your father.” At the word ‘father’ she smiled, but it was more like a I-like-this-memory-but-it-makes-me-sad kind of smile.
“Wait, hold on, I had more than one father?”
“No, it’s the same father you know of today.” Wait, father and Sonia have met before?
“Anyways, Lyall, I was around the same area your father was in at the time, and started to practice my spells on things like a tree, then I would quickly revive the tree to it’s original form after I saw that the spell worked.”
“After around, 3 hours of practicing a variety of spells, your father came to me and asked how I did them, then he started to rave about how I was ‘so impressive’. After that, we started to talk more and became good friends. ”
“We were close friends until after 3 months we fell in love.”
“What!” This slipped out of my mouth before I could stop myself.
“Shortly after we fell in love, I found out he has now founded a new village, it was the same spot we met, but he expanded the land by a lot.” She smiled.
“He named the ex-unnamed land Cyris, after my last name, and since he founded the land, and no one else claimed it, he was now Cyris’ king,.” This was definitely a different story than the one told by father…
“SO your full name is Sonia Cyris?”
“Yes, but since we were… together, I was the queen.” My jaw fell to the floor at this point.
“But… ” For some reason she didn’t finish her sentence. She slid off the couch we were sitting on and began to sob. I tried to tell what kind of sadness she was going through by her sobs. It wasn’t an I-was-injured kind of sob, nor was it an I’m-kind-of-sad, it was more of a my-heart-and-soul-has-been-injured-and-now-I-can’t-fix-it kind of sob. I’ve never experienced something like that before, and I don’t really know how to console someone, so I just awkwardly pat her back and repeated things like ‘It’s okay’ and ‘Everything’s okay now’ for a few minutes.
After those few minutes, her sobs began to sort of, fade away. She lifted her head.
“I’m so sorry Lyall… ” Why is she sorry? I mean, she did sort of destroy everything I knew… Well, I might as well forgive her, there’s no point in furthermore inducing fights.
“It’s alright. Really.” She gave me another sad smile. Then I asked “Would you be okay if you continued your story?” She eyed me for a second then I said “I mean, you don’t have to… ”
“I’ll be fine. Now, where was I?”
“You were talking about how you were queen but… ”
“Oh,” she sounded a little sad again, “Yes, that, so… your father met your mother and he stopped talking to me after he found out I wasn’t as rich as he.” What? Would my father really do that?
“For a few weeks I just asked myself why he stopped talking to me, and I was worried he now fell in love with Ivana… I mean, your mother.” She knew mother too… I should’ve known…
“When I tried to ask him instead of myself, I found him… How do I say it? Well, they were together, they were a couple now, and it was obvious. After I saw them together, I ran and cried. I left for a few weeks again and finally decided to confront him, alone. Instead of treating the problem like an adult, your father accused me of only loving him for his riches and royalty.”
“Then he changed the name of the land to Cher, his last name. What he didn’t know was that I was pregnant.” I gasped.
“I was pregnant with you.” I gasped once more. She was my real mother, so that’s what she was talking about…
“I tried to tell your father about this but he simply dismissed the topic. A few months later, he had a baby with Ivana, your mother. It was your sister, Fiona. They both couldn’t have a baby boy to be king, so your Father, Odin, came to me instead. He told me he didn’t want the poor baby to be raised by a jerk like me. So he took you, the only thing that even loved me anymore, just so he could have a king.”
“Lyall,”
“Yes?”
“You know how I have ‘magic greater than anyone else’?”
“Mhm.”
“After your father took you away from me, I turned into a Dark witch, and since I now knew both Pure and Evil spells, I had greater magic than anyone else. I had learned these dark spells just to get to you. Now that I have access to both Pure and Evil spells, I can conjure, and create any types of spells now.”
“Now you’re here, in the only remaining part of Cyris that I took.”
“This tower is in Cher? I mean, Cyris?”
“Correct.”
“How come it’s so far away?”
“It isn’t. This was where I met your father.”
“Ohhh, but where did you get ‘Lyall’?”
“Oh yes, sorry, I got carried away. Lyall was the name I was going to give you.” I loved the way she pronounced ‘Lyall’ she said it like Lee-all instead of how I would usually say it, like Lie-all.
Although it’s been about 4 hours with Sonia, I felt a little more comfortable with her, everything she loved is gone, or doesn’t love her back, and I’m the only thing left. I want to love her back. She does seem like she would be a good mother, she did sacrifice a lot of things, for the sake of love, and if she loves me, with that kind of motherly love, I’m willing to love her back.
Ch. 4: Flora, Certus & Pecker
After me and Sonia had that big talk in what we now call ‘The Circle Room’, Sonia and I went outside (Sonia expanded the area of the binding spell) to practice some reviving spells. Sonia waved her staff in a small circle and muttered
“Vivifica” over and over again. Her circle got wider and wider, until the damaged tree was healed. “Ok, now your turn.” Sonia gave the tree a mini cut again and turned to me.
“Ok.” I took a deep breath.. “Vivifica” I did the same thing Sonia did, or at least, tried. Sadly, the tree’s scar did not heal and I felt a rush of guilt over me for not being able to revive this poor tree.
“Ah, see you’re talking too fast and you’re pronouncing ‘Fififica’ wrong, you should pronounce the ‘V’s.” Ohhh. I thought.
“Ok. Ok… ” I took another breath.. Long story short, I failed that time too, I forgot to make the small circles wider, it took me around another 10 tries to finally get it right. It made me so tired because I had to picture the tree getting revived along with doing everything else. The way you picture any spell, and you’re doing everything else properly too, that is how the spell with turn out.
When Sonia finally noticed I was tired, we walked back up to the Circle Room and Sonia let me decorate the room, she said that this was where I was going to live for the next 6 years, I was 12, you do the math. I was, of course, surprised to hear this, but I focused on decorating the Circle Room, I didn’t want to think to think of me living here for 6 years.
While I was actually taking time to look around the room, to see what I’d like in My Circle Room now, I noticed three animals, I recognised one as a baby Burmese cat, well, not baby, she just looked like a kitten. There was also another Burmese cat, looking like an adult. Then there was an owl, looking like a True owl, also, looking regal. Well really, each seemed regal in some way.
“I didn’t know you had pets.” I told Sonia, pointing at the three animals.
“O-oh, erm, yes, I just got them around, today, actually.”
“What are their names?”
“That one’s Flora, a girl.” She pointed at the kitten. “That’s Certus, the mother of Flora” she says this as she points to the mother Burmese cat. “And that, is” she shudders and points to the owl “Pecker.” She seemed almost bitter as she said this. Jeez, what does she have against owls?
Then Flora came up next to me and started meowing.
“MEOW” Flora kept repeating this to me, as though I could understand, she kept repeating this, over and over, like a warning or something..
Sadly, I don’t speak cat so I couldn’t understand her.
“Meow?” I tried to respond back to her but only failed horribly.
“Lyall, you can’t talk cat..” Sonia said, chuckling lightly.
“Well she seems so desperate… ”
“Wait, how did you know it was a girl?” Sonia asked me this question with a shocked look on her face, and as she said this, I realized I had accidentally assumed Flora was a girl. I’m not quite sure what gave it away, it was either the fact that the name ‘Flora’ just seemed like a girl name or… that she acted how my sister usually does, my sister is probably the only girl close to my age I’ve met, and she’s 6.
Wow, the more I think about my life, the more I realise how lonely my life actually was. I’ve always been rich, I’ve had a stable family, and I have had a roof over my head, more than once. So why was my life sad?
Suddenly, out of nowhere, I heard a subtle ‘pitter-patter’ outside a window in The Circle Room.
I expected this to be rain, and come from all 7 windows, but it didn’t come from all 7 windows, nor was it rain. Sonia opened the window to see what had happened. With this, Pecker tried to fly out, and he did, except he didn’t go very far, and decided to come back. I looked down the window to see why and I saw a girl and boy. I (once again) sprinted down the stairs and finally got outside. I got a closer look at the boy and girl, and noticed the girl to be around the same age as me and the boy looked to be around 6.
“Well that wasn’t so hard, now was it?” the girl said this to the boy and I heard the boy mutter
“Actually, yes, it was… ”
“What are you doing here?” the girl asked. I saw Sonia finally get down the stairs, a cold expression on her face. When Sonia came into view, I waved, but the girl and boy both summoned their staffs, in perfect fighting position.
I heard the girl say “Get back, Odin. You haven’t been fully introduced to magic yet, you’re only seven. Just listen to me brother!” Odin? Wasn’t that father’s name? It seemed like Sonia noticed this too and froze, just for a second. Sonia seemed to have snapped wide awake after, and said
“I mean no harm-”
“You mean no harm?” Odin bravely said. “Isn’t it weird how you say that, after you attacked our village?”
Sonia was taken aback by this ”Village?” she seemed to whisper.
“Of course! Of course, it’s a village now since you took the entire royal family, leaving only Oliver!” It was now my turn to be taken aback.
“You what?” I said, trying to hide my anger at Sonia for not even telling me, and misleading me, making me think my family was alive. I was shaking furiously. She didn’t respond.
“TELL ME!” I said, starting to think everything she just said to me was a complete lie. I wanted to clench my fists, but if I did, I wouldn’t be able to catch my staff in time if I need to summon it.
“I… Lyall… ” Was that all she could utter? I saw tears starting to stream down her face, why was she crying? It was my family that got taken away from me, not hers. I was starting to get angrier by the minute, my rage clouding my sensibility.
“I thought you knew?” The girl said, but what was I supposed to know? Was Sonia keeping secrets from me?
“Know what?” I asked, I was trembling, no longer with anger, but shaking with fear. Fear of my family being-
“Dead.” Odin muttered this. The girl only nodded. Sonia gave me a look, but I didn’t want to even look at her right now.
“We believe, your family has been killed.” Everyone except Sonia trembled at the word ‘killed’. The word seemed to echo, it seemed to echo sadness, fear and anger all at once. I fell to my knees. I expected myself to cry, but it didn’t come. Oh wait- my vision started to cloud, as did my sensibility, again. The entire world seemed to fall apart, I was turning blinder by the minute, blinded by tears. Blinded by the fact that my family was gone. Gone. Forever. They would never come back… My blindness would be gone each time I blink, and a tear would fall down my face, but the blindness would quickly come back. I felt heaviness in my heart. I bowed. I bowed so low my forehead touched the grass. I close my eyes. I see Fiona. My sunshine, and possibly my only friend. My sister. She was always so happy, and believed that there was goodness in everyone. The thought of her made me smile, but the thought of her death… that was definitely different. Of course I was devastated about my parents’ death as well, but my sister’s struck me the hardest. I sat there crying for long past sunset, for the first few minutes, I felt consoling hands on my shoulders, patting me awkwardly, and after more time passed, I felt those hands slowly fade away. I finally sat up. I was tired and I no longer had tears left to actually cry.
I look up. I saw Fiona happily smiling at me, and trying to tell me everything’s OK.
“Fiona!” I was so happy and surprised at the same time, I couldn’t believe she was actually alive!
“Hello Olly! I hope you aren’t too sad!” She says, in her usual innocent voice.
“You did scare me for a second there.” I say, still in disbelief.
“Come on!” She says to me. I smile and follow, then I realize the slide we used to have back at Cher’s playground appeared right in front of me. She slid down, laughing all the way, and I try to catch her when she reaches the bottom of the slide, but she fades as I try, so does the playground. Suddenly, I hear screaming, and I see Fiona fall down a deep hole and I realize I can’t do anything about it, so I’m simply forced to watch her die. Without doing anything. She fades with the hole again. The playground appears, and this time, it doesn’t fade to my touch, so I sit on the swing and I look over at the slide.
I wake up. My heart hurting like crazy. I look around. I’m in a bed with Sonia, the girl and Odin by my side. I wonder how they made amends with each other.
“Are you OK?” The girl is the first to talk.
“Sure.” I respond.
“Oh! Of course, I haven’t introduced myself yet, I’m Ivana!” Ivana? Ivana and… Odin? Why are their names that same ones as my mother and father? Sonia’s face turns cold again as she says this, but I don’t want to think about Sonia.
“My name’s Oliver. But you already knew that.” I say in a monotone voice. Then I recall the dream I had and start to sob uncontrollably. I’ll never forgive Sonia. I’ll never forgive myself. I know it was barely my fault, but I didn’t care.
“Shhh, it’s Ok… ” Ivana consoles me. Then she starts singing a lullaby we used to sing in Cher for kids.
I forget the lyrics she sings, but it sounds beautiful. Ivana’s voice is filling the room. Filling my head. It was at this moment my heart felt at peace. I was still recovering from my family’s death, of course, but at least for now, the battle inside me between anger and sadness is at peace… For now…
As I looked up at Ivana, she smiles a bit while singing, and I try to smile back, showing her that I am truly thankful for her kindness. I notice how beautiful Ivana looks for the first time, her hair was as black as ink, and in a ponytail, and her brown eyes are so dark, but they pull you in a trance once you start to gaze at them. She stops singing.
“We should be leaving by now.” She turns to her brother. “And Sonia,” She turns to Sonia. “We only come to make peace. Do you accept our plea for peace?”
Sonia’s eyes turned stone cold.
“No.”
“Fine. But we will keep coming every month, until you accept our invitation to peace. Understand?” Ivana was so mature, especially as she said this. Sonia nodded.
“Fine.”
The two siblings summon their staffs and mutter
“Tulapis” and disappear. Of course, I recognised this spell to be a spell that takes you to a specific checkpoint you have in mind. But I turned to Sonia and gave her a cold look, then I looked away.
I went back on the bed, then I realized I was in The Circle Room. Sonia decorated it overnight, I guess.
“Lyall… ”
“I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO DO THAT!” I was furious. I wanted to show that to Sonia. I didn’t care about her feelings, I want to break her heart like she did to me.
“Lyall, it’s not true-”
“AND NOW YOU’RE LYING TO ME? SERIOUSLY, YOU KILL MY FAMILY, THEN YOU HIDE IT FROM ME, AND NOW YOU’RE JUST STRAIGHT-UP LYING!”
“Trust me, I’m haven’t-”
“NICE ONE SONIA, YOU’VE SCREWED IT UP FOR EVERYONE! I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY!”
“Lyall, please don’t talk to me like th-”
“YOU MAY NOT LIKE IT, BUT YOU DESERVE IT!”
“Lyall, please think logicall-”
“NO! YOU DON’T EVEN DESERVE THIS, YOU DESERVE CRUELLER THINGS THAN ME JUST SHOUTING AT YOU!”
“Lyall!” She had summoned her staff.
“JUST SHUT UP!” Sonia lowered her staff as I said this. “AND DON’T TALK TO ME!” My rage was starting to take over me.
“Alright, then.” Wait, what? “I’ll give you your well deserved time.”
“T-thanks.”
“Don’t mention it.” Sonia smiled. She went down the flight of stairs, leaving me with Flora, Certus, Pecker and my dark thoughts.
Ch. 5: The Test of Time
I turn off the lights in my new room, the ex-Circle Room, and hit the bed. I think about how Sonia said I’ll live here for six years. Then I think about how Sonia killed my family, I tried not to cry, but I let myself shed one tear. I pull the blanket up to my chin and try to rest my eyes, except, that proved to be a challenge.
My mind was racing, with thoughts of sadness, anger, fear and questions, lots of them. I never knew the thought of death would make you feel more than sad… I opened one eye, then the other.
Directly in front of me was an opening leading to the set of stairs, I really wished there was a door there. I thought I kept seeing something move there, but whenever I sat up, it would disappear. I knew it was a trick my eyes were playing on me, but it still bothered me.
Flora suddenly jumped on my bed, this made me smile.
“Hello, Flora, how are you?” I whispered to her, not wanting Sonia to hear me.
“Meeeeeow.” She replies. I chuckle softly at this. Then, Pecker and Certus get on the bed too.
“Oh, so you want me to pet you?” I asked softly.
“Mewww!” I assume this was a ‘yes’ in cat, so I pet them all. After a few minutes of this, I get out of bed and look out the largest window, Flora following me. I see the stars and try counting them, of course, I lost count most times. Then, I see a shooting star fly by and try to make a wish. So, I mutter softly;
“I wish my family were still alive.” I hoped this would work, but of course, how could a meek star bring back 3 people from the dead? When I made this wish, Flora, Certus and Pecker were mewing/hooting loudly.
“Shh! Sonia will hear you!” I whispered aggressively, and just like that, they turn dead silent, as though they understood me. I sighed and went back to bed, closed my eyes, and my thoughts carried me away into a deep sleep.
* * *
All of a sudden, I woke up. I had an absolutely horrible dream. In my dream, there was blood everywhere, and it seemed as though there was absolutely no sign of light. Then when I looked around, the blood was coming from my family, I’d rather not get too detailed, so I’ll stop there.
But having that image in my brain, was enough to spark rage at Sonia once more, but this time, my sensibility took over, and decided I could slightly tolerate Sonia, not entirely forgive her, but she was tolerable, for now. I look at the end of my bed, and I see Flora, Certus and Pecker there, Pecker was asleep, but the two girls were awake.
I get out of bed and walk down the flight of stairs. As I get down, I hear noise from the door on my right, it’s slightly opened, so I peek inside. I saw a kitchen, and Sonia was softly humming to herself while cooking something, at this point, I realize I’m very hungry so I step inside.
“Ah, hello, Oliver!” Sonia waved to me, she seemed very jolly today for some reason.
“Hello.” I’m still angry about yesterday and my family, but I try to hide it.
“Here,” She gives me a plate. “Breakfast is coming in around 5 minutes, alright?” This only made me hungrier. She glances at me and rests her spatula. “Look, I’m very sorry about yesterday, I just didn’t want to lie to you.” She looks very solemn.
“You didn’t want to lie?” Okay, maybe I’m just really bad at hiding my emotions.
“Yes, because I didn’t actually kill your family.”
“You didn’t?”
“Yes! Why would I?”
“If my family isn’t dead like you insist, how come they aren’t trying to save me?”
“Because… ”
“And besides, even if you didn’t kill my family, you still murder people heartlessly.”
“Lyall.” She pronounced this as ‘Lie-all’, she never does this. “I’m starting to get very angry.”
“If anyone here has the right to be angry, it’s definitely me. Besides, you aren’t scaring anyone.” She had summoned her staff. I called mine.
“Lyall, please… ”
“What are you going to do about it? Kill me?” I raised my staff.
“o… ” She didn’t respond.
“FINE THEN!” Sensibility? I don’t know him.
“o… ” She didn’t respond again.
“FINE! KILL ME IF YOU WANT!” Yeah, at this point only rage exists.
“Manducare Animarum!” Suddenly, Sonia shot a spell at me- Everything went black.
* * *
“Hello, Lyall.” She pronounced it like ‘Lie-all’ again, did this mean she was angry?
“H-hi… ” I tried to recall what had just happened, but all I remember was me and Sonia fighting, then…
“Here, take this, it’ll help” She handed me a warm glass of lemonade, I took a sip, it seemed to be sweetened with honey.
“T-thanks?” Then… something happened… I’m not quite sure what is was though…
Suddenly, everything that had just happened, flooded back to me again.
“You, you sh-shot me with a-”
“Shh… yes, I know, and I’m very sorry, I lost my sanity a long time ago.” Sonia smiled as she said this. Did she just make a joke?
“Why did you-”
“I lost- I lost my temper.” I felt… different, in a bad way. But nothing seems to have changed…
“Did you turn me into something?”
“Lyall… ”
“Sonia, what did you do?”
“Lyall, please don’t get angry… ”
“SONIA”
“Lyall… I turned you into a-” She stopped herself. A tear strolled down her cheek. “A Soul-eater.” She whispered.
“A what?”
“You don’t know what a Soul-eater is?”
“I mean, I know one part has to do with eating souls, but otherwise, I’m completely clueless.”
“I’d rather not get into detail.”
“SONIA!”
“Yes?”
“It’s the least you can do for me.” I was really angry at Sonia, but I was too tired to express it.
“Well. Maybe I can’t say it… ” Ok, what was she planning now? “But maybe I can write it?” That was the only other way… So I waited patiently for her to write it all down. She gets a piece of paper and a quill, summons her staff, then she scribbles a few words down, and muttered “Nunc Livril” and pointed her staff towards the piece of paper. She made some kind of movement with her staff while pointing to the piece of paper.
The piece of paper doubled, and that did too, suddenly, multiple pages flooded out of that one piece of paper. After a few seconds, it had turned into a book.
“How… ” I didn’t know a spell like that existed…
“Here, you can read this, and you’ll have every bit of information I know, and trust me, I know a lot.” Sonia showed me the cover of the book.
“Everything Sonia Knows About Soul-Eaters” I read aloud. Sonia was beaming, obviously proud of her work. I gave her a bitter look, then her happy self disappeared.
“Lyall, I’m so sorry… ” This is what she’s done… and all she does is say ‘Sorry’?
“Can’t you turn me back into human or something?”
“Lyall, don’t get angry, again… but, I can’t… ”
“WHY NOT? WHY DID YOU DO THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE?”
“Lyall… ”
“WOW! ANOTHER THING TO ADD TO THE LIST!” I add angrily.
“What?”
“I SHOULD BE WRITING ALL THIS DOWN!”
“Lyall, what are you talking about?”
“FIRST, YOU KILL MY FAMILY,”
“Lyall, I didn’t do that!”
“THEN YOU HIDE IT FROM ME!”
“Lyall, please calm down!”
“THEN WHEN I ASK YOU ABOUT IT, YOU LIE!”
“Lyall, I didn’t lie either!”
“THEN, TO REPAY ME, YOU TURN ME INTO A MONSTER!”
“LYALL!” Oh. So she’s fighting back now? I feel my around for my pockets, trying to make it seem like I won’t summon my staff, or anything. I feel something in my pocket, I take it out.
“Hmm.” I mutter quietly while Sonia is telling me something, I don’t listen though, I pay full attention to the thing in my pocket. It looked like folded paper. I don’t remember putting this here… I opened up the folded paper and saw a drawing.
“LYALL! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!” I gasp. Tears start to stream down my face, I try to wipe them, but they keep coming. There was a drawing on the paper. It was a terrible drawing, but it was beautiful at the same time. “Lyall?” Sonia returned to her sweet voice. I looked up at her, my hand cupped over my mouth.
“Fiona… ” I whisper, trembling again. My heart felt heaviness again, and my mind went dark as well. Then all of a sudden, like a switch turned on, I summoned my staff.
“Lyall? What are you doing?”
“YOU!” I took a step towards Sonia
“Lyall?” She took a step back.
“YOU KILLED HER!” I took a few more steps to Sonia, clutching my staff, tears streaming down my face.
“L-Lyall… ” She took multiple steps back.
“AND IN REPAYMENT OF KILLING HER, AND THE REST OF MY FAMILY, YOU CURSE Me?!.”
“L-Lyall, I didn’t kill them!” Why does Sonia keep insisting this?
“Oh really?” I say in sarcasm. I longer want to hide my emotions.
“LYALL, SOMETIMES I’M POSSESSED BY DARKNESS!” Sonia said this so frantically. Is that why she killed my family? What a cheap excuse. Sonia shook her head.
“Go upstairs to your bed.”
“No.” I say.
“I’m not asking, that’s an order.”
“But-”
“Go upstairs.” I silently obeyed to her orders and went upstairs with the book.
* * *
I plop back onto my bed, still trying to calm down after what just happened. Things were definitely not going the way I’d love them to. I am a prince, and usually, everything would go the way I want. But now, that my father is gone, I’m technically a king, but I haven’t had any training, and no one else in Cher knows I’m still alive except Ivana and Odin, and now that I think about it, they probably told everyone there that I’m still alive.
I admire how they asked for peace instead of war. They know that there’s no way they’re going to win against Sonia. I rest my head on my pillow and start reading the book Sonia made.
* * *
“Son? Are you alright?” I can’t believe Sonia is asking this question because;
#1 I was definitely not okay.
“Mewww!” I assume this was a ‘yes’ in cat, so I pet them all. After a few minutes of this, I get out of bed and look out the largest window, Flora following me. I see the stars and try counting them, of course, I lost count most times. Then, I see a shooting star fly by and try to make a wish. So, I mutter softly;
* * *
* * *
* * *
