Make the username message less scary
I 10000% support! I mean “protect you identity” sounds like the project knows what your actual legal name is, this is what it should say:
This project knows which Scratcher is using it with the “username” block. If you're uncomfortable with this, log out before using this project

It should say for cloud data:
This project stores data on the Internet. Keep in mind never to give out personal information on a Scratch project.

Turkey3 at it again with the good writing! +1, that message seems melodramatic.
Maybe have the current version appear only if both cloud vars and the username block are used? Otherwise, give a toned-down version of the message.
And of course, since the message tells you to log out to keep yourself safe, have it not appear if you're logged out…~~~~

Okay, I think that the username warning should say something like this: “This project can detect your username with the username block. If you don't want this, please sign out before using the project.” and for cloud data it'd say “This project can store data. Remember not to give out personal info on this project.”, as some people have said.

Support. You shouldn't put personal info in your username anyway, so there's no threat (apart from DadofMrLog's point about combining the username with divulged personal info, but this is unlikely so long as the user is being somewhat careful as you always should online…).
I reckon change it to:
The owner of this project is able to view your username with the ‘username’ block. Sign out before using the project if you would prefer your username to be hidden.
Slightly off-topic: What is the username block actually set to if you are signed out when using the project?

The owner of this project is able to view your username with the ‘username’ block. Sign out before using the project if you would prefer your username to be hidden. But above is not true! The *owner* of the project (i.e. its creator) can't see anything about the username of the person running the project, unless the project puts it into a cloud variable. –Only the project itself can use that username in some way, and the owner has no idea who is running the project (without cloud).
But, as I mentioned previously, if the project is going to put some info into a cloud variable (for the project owner to then look at and (ab)use in some way), you don't need the username at all, because the cloud log shows that anyway…
Slightly off-topic: What is the username block actually set to if you are signed out when using the project? It's blank (i.e. empty).

The only danger would be a project saying “to play this project please enter your scratch password” - then it encodes the username and password into a list and the scratcher's password can then be stolen by the project creator (or anyone honestly).

Take a look in your backpack – if you find the username block in there (or a script containing it – maybe a sprite, too, but not sure about that) then delete it.I get that message for all projects! Support. How can the projects even take your personal information and identities? All that is, is a block that detects your username. Is Scratch trying to scare us?

Support. There is no danger in using the 'username' block if the project doesn't use cloud data. Even then there isn't much of a threat. I agree that the message should be removed unless cloud variables are used in the project as well.

Support! There`s no need to make it so scary. It should simply say “This project contains a username block, so the project can tell what your username is. If you do not wish this, please sign out before using this project.” It freaked my friend out the first time she saw Scratch..

Full support, I can see how this would be confusing to some.

It sounds way less intimidating.
I never really found the message scary, mainly because I was 10 when I first used Scratch and that was when I found username blocks most. I just assumed “Identity” meant “profile”, but now that I understand what “identity” really means it kinda freaks me out a little.. even though I still know that they mean “profile”.

Support !Not very true. If you really want them to look at it soon, you can report the topic for review of the suggestion, although they'll likely get here without it if it's activity keeps up.
