Getting a new computer...
I'm getting a new laptop around June, and I'm trying to research on what to get. I want it Win7 or Win8 with at least an i3, preferably i5 or i7. I need at least 500 gigs of memory, and 6-8 gigs of RAM. Touchscreen is optional, but not an ultrabook. I'd rather it be Dell. Any suggestions?

I recommend not getting a touch screen. Manufacturers boost up the price $150 just for it.
Anyways, I got my laptop for $700, and it's:
Not to mention I got a free 1 year warranty. All at Best Buy, by the way. And free virus protection.
Another thing to look out for is that there are tons of different i3, i5, and i7 processors, so I recommend asking the sellers for the exact type to figure out processor cache, clock rate, and cores.

-SamsungYes, I got a great deal. I did so because I did not go for silly features like touch screen or look, but solely hardware. And don't ever let store guys talk you into how hard it is to set up a laptop. With under $1000, you can even get better than that.

That one sounds great! What's its model name?
Oh, and is it a laptop? I want something with some weight, larger than an ultrabook, but definitely more portable than a desktop.
EDIT: Right now, I have a Celeron at somewhere like 2.5GHz with either 250 or 500 gigs of storage and 6 gigs of RAM. It's a Compaq xD

It is a laptop. Oh, and its GPU is Intel HD Graphics 4000. I've rendered 60 FPS games at splendid graphics on only 50% CPU usage. It's a Samsung ATIV Book 4. Not sure where to find model number and don't have time now. That one sounds great! What's its model name?

Sounds good. Yeah, I just wanted the computer name ![](//cdn.scratch.mit.edu/scratchr2/static/__1394063608__/djangobb_forum/img/smilies/tongue.png)
Any other suggestions? I've checked out the Inspiron series; any input on those?

An important question. What is your purpose for buying a laptop?

Get a better one than my Compaq Presario. I use my computer for general purposes, like word processing, PowerPoint, web browsing, and gaming. What is your purpose for buying a laptop?

My aforementioned Sager would be really good for that (with the added benefit that they have the best keyboards on the market.)Get a better one than my Compaq Presario.
