GTX 660 vs AMD Radeon R9 270X
Hey guys,
I'm getting a new gaming desktop soon, so I need your input.
Which GPU do you think I should get; the Radeon or the GTX?
Thanks.

Have you looked at any benchmarks? The r9 270x is in general a much better performer, but it's also significantly more expensive. The most important question is if the extra price is worth it to you.

The only place the 660 excels is the lower power consumption and the higher memory clock rate.

Well, I have a GTX 660 Ti, and to me it's pretty good. Games like Far Cry 3, Saints Row IV, Dota 2 and GTA IV run pretty well in my computer.

If you get get it for a comparable price, then I would wholeheartedly recommend it. It's definitely a better card.Have you looked at any benchmarks? @Noxspooth: The ‘Ti’ suffix indicates a big difference in price and performance. The 660 and 660 Ti are much different cards, despite their deceptively similar naming.

I'd usually recommend the AMD card, but apparently, they've become more expensive due to bitcoin miners preferring them.

R9 270X Is louder and has a higher TDP than the GTX 660, but the 270x is more powerful and you can get it for around 150-170 dollars. If that's to much money still you can go for the R7 265. It has 2GBs of DDR5 & 256bit memory interface, and its as powerful as the GTX 660, but it has a 150w TDP while the GTX 660 has a 140w TDP.
