I agree that the genetics in Warriors is completely off. Calico cats are usually always female.

That's true. Also, why are there MALE TORTIES WITH BLUE EYES?! THEY ARE MARY SUES IN DEVELOPMENT! Blue eyes is very rare in cats. A male tortie with blue eyes is SOOOO hard to achieve, and in nature, it's even rarer!

That's true, but Sol and other male cats have had tortie pelts. I know of a tom (I can't think of his name at the moment) that was tortie w/blue eyes. How was that possible?

I don't completely think they looked into genetics and what was possible for cats. The lack of genetic rule following in Warriors also slightly bothers me.

Yeah,although they killed all my favorite characters (i had about 20), I still named my new kitten Cinderpelt.

I think Erin Hunter just wanted to make a bigger variety of what the cats looked like. So there wouldn't be to many mix ups of supporting character cats, and so their looks could sometimes match their personality.

They probably wanted variety, but clearly it's not enough because the average person who's not totally into Warriors is not going to be able to tell which cat is which the majority of the time, regardless of how important they are.
